USA Hockey cheerleader and knowledgeable poster of young Americans, American Dream had this to say about Troy Vance - "I really like the kid and the future that he has. He has size, size, and size! And he loves to use it. When I saw him play he reminded me of a young Mike Komisarek. Just itching to take someones head off on the ice. The kid is a physical specimen no doubt."

"He isnt the most graceful skater or efficient puck movers, but by all acounts from the coaching staff and regular followers (my viewings have been about 4-5 times) he kept improving throughout the season. From what I saw, I liked a lot. I think the kid has a future if he can continue to be a physical presence that can actually use their head and make decisive outlet passes, and be a solid puck rusher which he has shown at times."

"Still very very raw, and with a limited season like that I can imagine most teams were hesitant to draft him, but I have to believe that this kid will make much more noise next year and make a name for himself."

Scoutman1, who actually scouts the QMJHL for a team had this to say about him.

"Vance is a very good pick by dallas, super big and great young defender who is just starting to use his size and skill as one...he is still very raw though but the talent is there for him to be a very good NHL defender...good skater, he drops the gloves, very good hitter, good passing especially out let passing, good shot, he is excellent in his own end and starting to learn offense and when to jump into the play, he has a lot of tweeking in the offensive end.

Victo next year, ah they should be a .500 team or just above it Brandon Hynes is there number one forward he should be a 80 to 90 point guy this year...I expect Vance to be a 30 to 35 point guy while he learns the ropes in the offensive zone a bit more and being at tough and excellent defender. I think you will see Vance come back for one more year in victo and possible put up around 45 to 50 points on defense."

My take on Oleksiak, it was a rush and never really got around to finish it. So I decided just to published what I have since the draft is old news.

Well he was clearly trying to not seem like the rest of us creeps.

If you didn't tell me his name, I would've assumed he was Canadian with the way he speaks English. It's definitely a big change from Lehtinen's.
