Also what? Biggs hasn't had any notable fights, Olesz is a big guy that is offensively void (just like biggs whopping 7 goals in 20GP) but a good penalty killer. This is what Biggs is going to pan out to be, a shutdown forward that won't make it past the Marlies.
WHY DIDN'T YOU SPEAK UP!?!?!? Burke + dozens of GMs + hundreds of scouts have been under the impression that Biggs might be good one day.

Thats just selfish of you not to tell them. Shame on you.

He's a lot more Colby Armstrong like. Less offensive talent more grinder toughness.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize it was D'amigo you were talking about. I thought it was Biggs.

I still have trouble seeing what type of player Damigo will be. He seems to have offensive talent, but not enough to be a top 6 forward, but he doesn't seem like the right fit for a third line spot.

Biggs offers something that is unrivaled throughout our organization. Let's see how he develops and handles the NCAA. I think he could be a player that has more of an impact with his size, strength and character than his offensive production.

Milan Lucic and David Backes are great comparison.

Do you take a player with Backes upside or Versteeg upside?
TSN's player comparison was Colby Armstrong. That player currently plays for the Leafs. Colby is a good player who brings alot of the assets that Biggs was drafted for. I am interested to see how his career plays out compared to Colby's.

I'm also trusting the scouts here. They are scouts after all, they see this kids play, they don't just read a report on the internet like 90% of the people do on these forums. People need to have some faith.

Biggs will get some love soon enough I'm sure. He was being hailed as probably the most under-rated prospect in this class.

I'm not sure the Armstrong comparison is accurate, but if we can get another player as useful as Colby from the draft, we're walking away successful.

#22 in the first round ( Tyler Biggs) ( If he becomes a 2nd-3rd line solid NHLer sign me up!) Some of you need to realize that not all first rounders are going to be superstars. To get a possible 2nd line player late in the first is solid, really solid. Also other elements of his game are being over looked just cause he's not putting up major scoring numbers. If he becomes a Milan Lucic type as they compared him to..than I'm not sure why any of you are complaining. Lucic is a freaking monster out there.

I think he can be a 2nd line player. I think he can compliment 2 skilled 1st line players on the 1st line. The kid has some hands. Let's see how he develops.

He's taking the university route. It's going to be a long time before he cracks the lineup let alone the top "5." My guess is four years.

Once Kadri, Reimer, Aulie graduate this fall, and Biggs proves a lot of you wrong wherever he plays, its going to be:

1) Joe Colborne
2) Jake Gardiner
3) Tyler Biggs
4) Greg McKegg
6) Matt Frattin
7) Brad Ross
8) Sondre Olden (I have a feeling about this guy)
9) Jesse Blacker
10) Stuart Percy
11) Ben Scrivens
12) Jerry D'amigo
13) Jussi Rynnas
13) Luca Caputi
14) Marcel Mueller
15) Korbinian Holzer

Tyler Biggs I have pegged as a top-nine forward, and Stuart Percy as a second-pairing, multi-purpose defender.

No he's not. This is the draft-love-in people are going through. He's big, he's truculent, but he doesn't show himself having any ability to score which is what the team needs from its prospects. I know everyone wants another Wendel but Wendel actually got points in his junior days.

The raw facts are: He's big, can skate but is going to a university that isn't renowned when it comes to NHL development and doesn't seem to have offensive upside. He'll be just another player, if he does crack the NHL it doesn't look to be anything excited about.

Only reason people think he's underrated is because of what the US team has accomplished and because of his size + skating. Had we picked him up at 25 and had a shot at picking someone like Jenner or Catenacci in the 2nd I'd be happy, but trading up wiht a shot at Jensen or Peumpel and picking up Biggs..just a pissoff.

LOL I actually like people underrating these guys. Both are going to be great NHL players and I can't wait until they prove everyone wrong.

I think people are selling short the real utility of a player with that type of drive + size + skating, the sheer problems it creates in the offensive zone is valuable. Defense is good too.
