Dorion also hinted at a goalie pick tomorrow and Murray also hinted that he might be working on a roster deal

Yeah, ultimately, that's what it will take for me. Some big roster moves to follow this up. We could be a force as soon as two seasons from now if murray plays his cards right.

Where did you hear this? Just curious.

Anyways, extremely happy with the first round. I was already very happy when we had Zibanejad and Noesen. Adding Puempel was just the icing on the cake.

I heard dorion say "maybe a goalie", but it sounded like a bit of a longshot.

But the Puempel scoop makes up for that. Plus Z is not only the far safer pick and could even play in Ottawa next year, buy could end up being better than Strome long term.

But if Strome does not bust and gets stronger, look out. i don't think there is a player in the draft with more pure skill including the severely overrated RNH.

Yeah I agree with that. Puempel is going to be amazing player for us.

The only thing that I'm disappointed about today is the fact that I only caught one quick glimpse of the MacLean Moustache...(

Yeah. Love that we covered all three forward positions (and now have pretty much everything covered prospect-wise, apart from back-up goalie) and love taking Puempel after making two "safe" picks.

A bit disappointing the chips fell the way they did and that we didn't end up with a Huberdeau/Landeskog/Strome when there were realistic scenarios that we could land them, but when you hear things like Edm. demanding 6th overall + Karlsson for the 1st you can understand Murray not moving up. Plus I think Zibanejad is going to be a nightmare to play against, especially in the playoffs.

HAHAHA The Dorion interview on the Team 1200 sounds like a kid in the candy store right now, this guy is so high from this draft, he's so happy right now.

Still don't know how to feel about Z over Couturier, but grabbing Puempel and ************ the Leafs made my night.

At the very least it was more exciting than I expected.
