That's too bad. There are not too many sporting events in this country, city that sell out the Olympic Stadium and this year's Talviklassikko was a huge success. Then again, In today's world, they should be able to stage this event without damaging the grass. I've seen those pics that were taken in Spring and the field looked pretty bad...

HIFK vs. Jokerit and EHT game Finland vs. Russia will be played @ Olympic Stadium

Not sure if I'm heading there this time. I thought I was going to die because of the cold weather last year... and the temperature was like -1C.

Maybe... I'll think about it.

You know, if you dress proper winter clothing (not necessarily icefishing coverall), you are fine.. leave superstars and lacoste coat at home.

Maybe Kummola had to show his power to stadiumfoundation

The old farts indeed. These kind of events are exactly what Olympic Stadium needs, rather than turning in to a relic.... that it already is.

Anyways, will be trying to get tickets to one of the games for certain.

HIFK vs. Jokerit will sold out again but I have a feeling Finland vs. Russia will only get about 18.000 spectators...it's just EHT

Every Russian in Finland, and some even in Russia will come to that game, hope the Finns take up plenty of seats too.

Really good line up those 2 games!

That is so sad. Being a hockey AND a football (ok.. soccer here) fan. Today they thought that grass won't make it by the summer..

Quite a good analog in some newspaper today - what if they must play WC hockey in the middle of a slush!?? It's so sad we've got this controversy. Should we want it or not..

Some ticket info:

HIFK vs. Jokerit = 32.000+ tickets sold

Finland vs. Russia = not sure how much they have sold but like I estimated above they are having problems selling them. At the moment when you buy individual ticket for World Championship game you will get free ticket for the Olympic Stadium game. 12.000 tickets are given this way well as long they get more crowd it can't be a bad thing.

I can't believe the Finnish jersey looks that ugly. Perhaps I should've expected.
