Effect of the lockout on Bergeron

Does anyone know what Bergie will be doing in the event of a lockout? He obviously didn't get anywhere near the 50 games in the ahl last year so I don't think he can play there, and I don't know what kind of offers or opportunities there even are for him in europe.

Of all the guys in this franchise I think he has the most to lose in this scenario, the nhl is really the only place where he can further his cause and everyone who was half a step behind him on the depth chart last year can just keep on chugging.

Thoughts?

Add to the fact that he only made about $300k last year... and yeah for most people that is 6 years worth of work, but you figure the guy would have done things like buy his first house and all that...

These are the guys who get hurt in a lockout...

More reason to believe that if this is a secret ballot vote like it should be, we have have hockey next year after all.

the AHL rule isn't set yet, so if Bergeron doesn't have to clear waivers to play in the AHL I wouldn't be shocked if he does play for the Roadrunners next season.

****

just looked it up in teh CBA, and I think he's too old now to not have to clear waivers, so forget him in the AHL if that's the case.

I believe the WHA doesn't want to give players an out once the NHL lockout is over.
