It would be great to see but let's hope he doesn't bolt to the Pens after his contract is over here.

I hope he finds his game because Kulemin is skilled enough to at least put up 50 points minimum. Last season was a disaster for him.

Agreed, hoping he reignites playing alongside Malkin.

Malkin coming to the Leafs would be the greatest thing to ever happen to this franchise.

If he really wants to be THE guy, which is totally possible, there's no where he should go other than TO. He'd be even bigger than Sundin.

I hope Kulemin talks us up and Malkin comes. I'd LOVE to see what Kuley could do with Malkin as his centerman.

Kulie joins Malkin; Malkin must be coming to TO.

I might get flamed a little for this, but do you think there is a chance that some of the Russians that go over there get comfortable and don't come back? Especially "good" NHL players who would be great in the KHL (not unlike Kulemin).

I mean depending on how big the rollbacks in the NHL are, the KHL very well could be a viable option financially if you are a star there and even though the NHL is the best game, playing in front of family in friends in your home country would be an attractive option for me if I was a Russian.

I honestly would laugh if this happened. It would be bad for the fans of their respective teams and maybe the NHL would feel some pressure to keep their own players around.

Not if they have become accustomed to North American player perks, like our hotels, restaurants, shopping, our safer airlines and possibly nicer weather.

As much as I hate bettman, but praise him because seriously if the man wasn't doing his job he wouldn't have gotten a raise or stayed this long, he would be canned.

It would KILL a lot of fan numbers if this was to occur. Heck look at Artem Anisimov of Columbus Blue Jackets, he was one of the big pieces in the Nash trade, if he were to do that...a HUGE loss as Dubinsky is better served on the wings from what I recall.

LR, you gonna fix the title?

Very happy to hear Kulemin is re-uniting with Malkin. Would love to see him get his game back on track.

Just an FYI:

Nik Kulemin RSL MVP 2006-2007 season.

Played with Jan Marek leading scorer that year, who died in the plane crash last September.

Malkin was not on the team during his MVP season.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

I hope Kule doesn't lose his passport on his way back to Toronto, he is the guy that makes that Macarthur line go.

On a sidenote, are these guys taking their families to Russia with them or leaving them here? I assume it would be a mission to pack up and take your wife and kids off to Russia.

Good question, the one's with kids will probably want the kids in school. I recall Kule has kids but I don't think they are too old, so perhaps he will bring the family along.

I recall Gilmour playing in Switzerland and getting hurt, he was never quite the same with us after that. I do think this will be good for Kule. He's bound to have a 25 goal bounceback year. Too much talent in that kid to not.

I hope so as well. 25 goals from a guy playing a solid 2-way game would go a long way for a team trying to outscore their goaltending woes.

I know people think I hate Russian players, but I really don't, I like Kule's game. It would hurt to lose him in a trade, but if he bounces back this year, his value will skyrocket. What Burke does with this is anyone's guess. But he is one of the more movable pieces, along with Kessel and perhaps Grabo if we are to transform our Core Group of players. I think we have great potential in the supporting group with the prospects we have assembled.

If we can get 2 or 3 core guys to add to Dion and Reimer, I think a lot of these posters that hang onto Grabo's 50 pts will be much more happy with the product if Burke can make those deals happen.

Burke IMO is one or 2 blockbuster's away from making this team a contender.

Probably the best thing Kulemin could have done to rediscover his game and confidence.

Wonder if the NHLPA considers this SCAB behaviour or not.
