Carter and Richards Historically

Where do they rank all time among Flyers.

I'd say Richards is in the top 10. Not sure about Carter.

I think it would be a stretch to have Richards in the top 10.

Here are ten guys I would place ahead of Richards on the All-Time list (in no particular order): Clarke, Parent, Barber, Kerr, Leach, Hextall, Lindros, Leclair, Recchi, Gagne. Howe would probably be up there as well. Richards would be in the 12-15 range. Carter wouldn't even be in the top 20.

I was having trouble rating them. Wasn't sure how much I should base my list off of achievements. I'll do it off of a mixture of talent, what they accomplished, and how long they were here.

1.Bob Clarke
2.Bernie Parent
3.Bill Barber
4.Eric Lindros
5.Ron Hextall
6.Reggie Leach
7.Mark Howe
8.Rick Macleish
9.Tim Kerr
10.Mike Richards/John Leclair/Mark Recchi/Dave Poulin/Eric Desjardins/Brian Propp

Probably top 15

Skaters

1. Clarke
2. Lindros
3. Barber
4. Howe
5. Leach
6. Leclair
7. Kerr
8. Recchi
9. Desjardins
10. Propp

10 really isn't the special number it's made out to be, but I think I would have to put Richards 11th. After the first 4, there's plenty of room for debate.

No way I'm putting Richards over Gagne.

Yeah, as much as I like both of them, they aren't in the top ten of all time Flyers. Had they been around for the length of their contracts they most assuredly would have been in the end, but that wasn't the way things turned out.

Neither are top 10 in my opinion. Carter would be lucky to be in top 20, sadly. If only they could have stayed ...

Most of the guys on all your lists played their prime years here. Richards and Carter were just getting into their's.

If they both finished out their careers here like they were suppose to do then they would both have a good chance to finish in the top 10 because there were many seasons left for them and if they got a couple Cups here that would have put them there.

Yeah this. Both should have been top 10s. Through no fault of their own, they won't be.

Mike Richards is not a top ten Flyer. He was good, no doubt. But he didn't really do anything to warrant being a top ten. The Flyers have had some pretty damned good players in their history. If he finished out his career here, I think he would have definitely been in the top ten, if not five, but he is no way a top ten Flyer as it stands. Same with Carter.

you have not even put in Parent, Hextall, Lindbergh, Poulin, Tocchet, MacLeish....The Flyers have had guys who wore the sweater longer and bled it more than Richie and Carter...not to demean them, but it is a truth...

really? list me 20 skaters you would take over Richards. After about 15 you start getting into debatable territory. IMO
