If we jam them all in the net, the other team can't score.

Cram them into the net. Have one of the Shelley's skating around and hopefully this happens.

I like Talbot. I don't think he fits on this team, but homers pretending Powe is even half the player Talbot is is a bit silly.

No way no how.

Shelley-Betts-Sestito

I think a lot of people will be wearing Sestito jerseys in the crowd.

I like him a lot.

Looking at this team, we have just got twice as gritty with these moves.

We are using the Boston Mold.

I hope it works.

Boston had their 4th line out in EVERY situation. That 4th line you posted will not be.

well...this may sound odd, but....george mcphee likes to lock up his role players for term for continuity. he appears to be letting matt bradley move on. bradley had a 3 year $1.1m per contract. i would not be shocked to see mcphee take that contract to talbot.

he just scored a cup winner/character player in brouwer. adding talbot would certainly increase the caps playoff experience and grit level.

what better up yours to the pens than signing with the caps.

He's a fourth liner who can't win faceoffs and due to his shoulder injuries struggles to actually clear the puck on the PK.

I am not a big fan of Talbot. But some are acting like Powe is irreplacable.

I'd say they are about equal and Powe will likely cost less. They are both just grinders. Powe is probably one of, if not the fastest guys on the Flyers and if I'm not mistaken led the team in hits. He is also one of our best PKers. Plus he's a four year Princeton grad! Brains over brawn!

In the playoffs...

Talbot
07-08 - 17 GP - 9 points
08-09 - 24 GP - 13 points
09-10 - 13 GP - 6 points
10-11 - 7 GP - 4 points

Powe
08-09 - 6 GP - 3 points
09-10 - 23 GP - 1 point
10-11 - 11 GP - 1 point

I'm a huge Powe fan and he does a lot of things that don't show up in the score sheet but Talbot is a proven playoff performer who can be a top 9 forward when called upon.

Yeah, I like Powe and hope we re-sign him, but if Talbot would be available for the same cost... there's no question who I would go with.

Stopped there in the obvious homer post. In no scenario, universe, dimension, or dream would Powe ever score two goals for a team in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. Powe is a dime a dozen player. Talbot isn't great, but he's not strictly a fourth line plug like Powe.
