Say what you want about the contract, but this guy is a class act.

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/n...ory?id=6715560

I really hope we offer him some type of coaching or scouting job and keep him around in the organization.

wait.. guess what he probably isn't going to retire and he's going to play somewhere else next year. stop being such a child and criticizing him for putting a little bit of money and his family first. you don't know anything more than larry brooks wrote just like myself. so until you know the facts stop criticizing him for something you don't know anything about.

we all get that he didn't live up to his contract, (face it, most pepole that we have brought in thru free agency haven't lived up to their contracts) but the guy always gave his all when he was healthy enough to do so. good luck chris

If anything the Drury, Gomez and Redden era should help the Rangers. At least now guys know we're not just handing out retirement contracts and letting you float.

It's also not his fault that Sather offered that contract to him.

Watch him get a good contract elsewhere, and score GW's against us next season..

Funny how much people in this thread know about drurys personal information, and how in depth their info is, (or at least that's what all your assumptions sounds like), based solely upon what Larry Brooks has written over the past weeks about drurys situation, most of which he was speculating. Which is exactly why I haven't called him a *******, a cheater and a liar like some of you. I'd love to see all of you walk away from a couple of million dollars that is owed too you, and saying drury doesn't need it etc is also pure speculation and ******** unless any someone can come up with one of his recent bank statements you know nothing about his finical situation.

This thread has really showed some of your true colors.

From what ive seen, and facts I know are true drurys has been a class act during his time with new York.

Um, Gabby looked like he was floating last year. I hope he doesn't do it for 3 more.

Drury accepting the buy-out restores him a bit in my mind. No idea why he needed to play all these games, though.

For all we know it could have been the Rangers playing these games, his agent could've been involved, etc.

There's a lot I'm sure we don't know, never will know, and may never understand if we do know about some of the things that go on in the business aspect of things.

The best part about Drury being bought out, is that we can stop having these conversations.

I would love to know what "games" Drury has played with the Rangers since the season has ended. Did Drury ever once go on the record and say he wanted to block a buyout? Did Drury's agent ever go on record and say Drury was going to submit an injury claim? The answer to both questions is no...

En fact, the first and only statement from Drury was today, thanking the fans and moving on with his career. The only speculation about Drury blocking the Rangers buyout came from Larry Brooks. Of COURSE this board took it as fact (Myself included) and now that will just add to the terribly disappointing tenure Drury had here. The thing is it shouldn't.

Some people who without any direct knowledge of the situation bashed Drury as greedy and worse the past two weeks because of rumors. Hey, that's the world we are in and I accept that but it should be a learning lesson for a number or posters on this board.

Chris Drury's time is over with the Rangers. All we can do now is hope the money spent by Sather THIS TIME is used better. I say THIS TIME because obviously this will be Sathers latest attempt to improve the roster drastically through Free Agency. As fans we aren't saying "wait a second, we have seen this movie before and the ending was terrible." No, most fans say "one admission ticket to the Noon showing on Friday for the **** show, it will be different this time....I swear it will be..."

Capgeek has him listed now as a buyout. Rangers have over $25 mil. Also listing contracts for Mitchell and Weise.

Drury buyout hasn't happened yet, may not happen today. Could be later today, maybe not.
Just do it already.

Commodore wasn't put on waivers today. The Rangers aren't in a rush to submit the paperwork for the Drury buyout.

Wolski not being bought out means there will be a lot of pine riding this season for the 3.8 million dollar cap hit.

But I suppose its better than tacking on another .8 mil onto next year's hit for 3 mil a UFA class with nothing to offer.

The Rangers could wait until tomorrow afternoon to submit the paperwork if they are tryting to make a deal which can be only reason for waiting. Columbus has until noon tomorrow to waive Commodore if they don't trade him. They will definitely buy him out
