I guess so. Too bad if San Antonio doesn't want us back, they are you know what out of luck. Although, with a new regime, Tallon at the head, and our prospect pool, they may be very open to us coming back. Who knows.
edit-Sanots said we would announce our new affiliation agreement early this week, so supposedly we'll know very soon.

interesting for me as i'm in the middle of relocating to houston for a bit. that ought to mean i'll get to see SA several times a year.
do we have a complete list of guys turning pro anywhere? trying to get a sense of who we'll see there. robak, jenks and marky for sure, right? repik perhaps if back. anyone else?

If Howden isn't with the big club, i think he'll be in the AHL.

Nope he's not old enough to go to the AHL unfortunately. That stupid CHL/AHL rule where you gotta be 20 before I believe Dec 31st of that yr. I think Howden's b-day is like Jan 15th or something like that.
Guys that should be in the AHL (not mentioned above): Cullen, Timmons, Wilson, Hazen, Luciani, Duco, McArdle, Cheverie, Comrie, Oberg, Deryluk, Selleck and if signed/resigned, Lapoint, Caruso, Pacan and possibly one/both of Lovecchio and Knackstedt. I highlighted the ones that were either in college or juniors last season.

Lame!
So he'll pretty much be on our roster then? Well, that's not a terrible thing...

Probably won't see Wilson with the farm club considering he's unrestricted. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Europe. Lovecchio is unrestricted too.

pretty sure he's got one more year in juniors.
deryluk, who looks to be the 7th Dman (we forgot about him) might be there. timmons also should probably be there. duco and comrie as well. are lovecchio and knackstedt signed through this coming year?

Yes very lame but it was done to make sure teams arent raiding the CHL of all the talent. Cant say I blame them for having that rule in place.
Not necessarily...they could just as easily send him back to juniors one last season. And really, that wouldnt be a terrible thing either. I'd actually rather him not be on our roster next season and sent back to juniors to dominate one more yr.

also, i suppose lapoint will be there.
See my post above. Lovecchio and Knackstedt need to be re-signed. I believe they're both RFAs though so unless the team qualifies them, they may not be coming back. Lapoint I believe we have until August to sign but hope they do as he'd at least be good depth (even if sent to ECHL for playing time).

They hated us because we iced garbage teams there because Keenan was our GM at that time.
Not only did they ice garbage teams, but they demanded 100% control over the roster despite SS&E having a 50% ownership. So SS&E bought out Florida's half and sent them packing.
Totally different leadership in Florida then though. I imagine, if they do hook up, all bad blood will be left behind.
I've also heard rumors of FLA opting out of having an AHL affiliate and just sticking with an ECHL farm club
Not sure what that means for us in south Texas but I'd be just fine hooking back up with you guys
I like Tallon from what I've seen and read
Anybody have insight?
No insight, but Santos did say we would have an AHL farm team at the beginning of the week !
So turning out and not having any partnership would be a great miss by our management, and really, totally unthinkable since they said they would have something in place by the start of the week. I mean, they wouldn't have used those words IMO.
Yeah, I remember we were a "big" part of bringing hockey to Texas, then both managements got into some heat... It was really bad because I really thought we would have a great relationship there and could hold our farm-team for years. Too bad it ended up like this.
But like you said, I would hope everyone would jump in a new agreement with a clean-state. And I was excited the first-time we went to San Antonio, if a long-term deal is in a place with you I may be as excited because Santos and Tallon really want to establish our organization as one of the best. And that comes with a great AHL-partnership IMO.
