I really appreciate the write up DN. The SA media is non existant with their hockey knowledge asides for Tony U's blogs but he doesn't even go into detail like you do. If Marky continues his stellar play and the defense doesn't abandon him (IE the 49 shot game recently) I'm hoping for a deep run. Good to see the crowd totals on the year also. I agreee with your assessment on Petrovic though as the team is quite solid on the blue line. Milwaukee has always been a thorn for the Rampage. Hoping for a good report after a win Saturday.
I couldn't get to the game tonight and was on the road when Timmins scored. The radio seemed to go out some, which isn't unusual for where I was, and then I heard the goal horn and Weiss go "And the Rampage are celebrating a goal...Yes! It's in the back of the net!". It is nice to hear some of those lucky plays are finally going our way considering some of those nights early in the season when it seemed like we could get nothing.
Seabs and Roman were called up because Cinci's season ended over the weekend. Seabs may see some time (doubt it), but Roman wasn't on the clear day list, so he will only play if someone gets injured or called up.
Markstrom really is turning out to be everything he is touted to be. Amazing goalie with a kid like personality. He really has fun out there. Been a real pleasure to watch him this season.
Playoffs getting closer...
Seabs is out with a concussion he got while playing in Cinci.
Lately, I have not been too impressed with Markstrom on or off the ice. Some of his mistakes have costed us goals. Granted he has saved us from getting blown out of the water in some games of these past few games. If we make playoffs, I hope his mistakes are minimal or non existent.
The defence needs to help Markstrom out so he can be on top of his game. We can't let him hang there to dry. Strachan has not gone in the right direction since the beginning of the season. He has been turning the puck over way to much here lately.
The scorers need to pick up big time. What the hell happened to Rallo, Thomas, Cullen, and Matsumoto? Are they playing turtle?, where they only come out of their shell a few times during the season.
The team as a whole need to pick things up the last 4 games if they want to make playoffs. We need to start shooting the puck more on net, and make them good shots not crappy ones.
Sort of off topic- here are 5 Rampage jerseys being auctioned off on e-bay.
Magic number down to 3. Boys need just 3 out of 6 possible pts to clinch a spot and that's without any help.
Most complete game of the season last night. Offense was clicking, defense was superb, and Markstrom was solid as usual. PK was outstanding minus the fluke goal that went in off Yonkman.
Barring a terrible collapse, we could be looking at playoff hockey in San Antonio.

Go Rampage Go !
So glad we're back, and so glad that this relationship looks to be a great one !
Any thoughts on Drew Shore ? Watching the scoreboard, it seems he isn't producing that much...

After last year I'm not sure if I should get excited just yet
Also, my mother keeps telling me the Rampage are getting more pictures in the paper lately. Nice to see some notice.
Shore is playing 4th line minutes. Playing the role well, but still gets physically manhandled at times.

Markstrom since returning from Fla in mid Feb.

Kid is a beast.
Coming straight from college (hard to jump up to the AHL), this is all about getting shore adjusted to the pro game. He has all summer to put on the strength and be ready to go. There was no way a kid was coming straight from college and lighting it up in the A unless they're an unbelievable prospect like Kessel or Vanek coming out of Minnesota. He's just getting his feet wet and I wouldn't look into his stats as any indication of how he may turn out.
I would like to be the first person to congratulate Drew Shore on his first professional goal tonight in the first period. Rampage are up 3-2 after two periods so far. Hope they finish it off. Here's hoping for many more Drew. Congrats.
Jon Matsumoto scores the OT winner as the Rampage beat Texas 4-3. Team is now only one point away from clinching a playoff berth. On to Houston tomorrow night. Go Rampage

Considering my hockey hopes tonight, thank goodness! Magic number down to just 1 (breathing in a paper bag)
