Atlanta had a bad start, then failed big time

Started out by drafting the biggest bust in NHL history, went last place then drafts Heatley, go last place again then draft Kovalchuk, 2nd last then draft Lehtonen, at that point they thought they'd be unstoppable, then Heatley's accident which ended up with him getting traded to Ottawa for Hossa, following season they miss, after that season they made the playoffs and win their first ever Confrence championship, then gets swept 4-zip. They end up trading Hossa, after that season they had the same bad season, then trade the players that were expected to be their franchise Kovalchuk and Lehtonen. Then tried to be the same good team so they traded for some Hawks, miss the playoffs. Lose a 3rd Hockey team to Canada (Flames, Knights and Thrashers). They had it rough there, and a new start, new market and new city.

Everyone knows Atlanta got screwed.

I hope so, anyway.

Most Winnipeggers are familiar with the situation and are for the most part sympathetic. Unfortunately, I doubt greatly the NHL will return in the next 10 years. People read what they want to... When Quebec City lost their team, it was a damn shame. When Atlanta lost theirs, it was a "great day for Hockey."

I was asking the same thing in my head.

I think we've finally put that drama to rest. Let it sleep.

You and I both know it's just going to invite the Atlanta bashers back. People who understand the situation know the real story and don't need to re hash it.

This thread isn't going anywhere good.

Let's be respectful of Thrashers fans, guys, the wounds are still very raw. Closed.
