Thanks for everyone's help. I was able to get tickets to the home opener this morning when the pre-sale started. Not sure why they had the link up before but that's probably why it was spitting out any tickets since it didn't start until this morning.
As already stated the $70 ticket price plus fees of $13 are in the 400's. I got section 401 row D seats 1&2.
Very bad, if you are up against the wall and you won't be able to see the zone the rangers defend twice. Sat there for game 1 against the Isles in the 94 play-offs. If you are on the aisle, it will be somewhat better, but you won't be able to see the goal.
If anything at least you get into the building with those seats but yes they are bad. If anything, just talk to an usher and see if they could do something or try to find two empty seats nearby.

I doubt there will be two empty seats on opening night. Oh well, my main goal was just to be in the building. Is there anywhere int he building to just stand and watch the game?
Wow I didn't realize there are obstructed view seats like that, I'm assuming with seats 1 and 2 we will be against the wall as the sections get bigger to the left. I guess us Oiler fans shouldn't complain about Rexall, might be one of the oldest buildings in the league but the worst seat in the building(last row of the 3rd deck) and the worse that happens is you can't see the shot clock at the top.
Regardless I'm excited to see a live Rangers crowd and to cheer a Leafs loss.

You might be on the aisle actually. My fathers seats are in 405 and it goes left to right in seat numbers as in 1 is closer to center ice. You could probably find two together though it will be tough.
401 is not a good section, the entire goal is blocked. You will need to watch the game on he jumbotron when the play is in that area. This is the view:

(This is the pre-renovation seating guide, still valid for the 300's and 400's)
Awesome thanks for that. That's not as bad as some are making it out to be. Good thing it is the side the Rangers attack twice. As long as the rangers don't score in the 2nd I shouldn't miss anything other than Lundqvist robbing those AHL players that call themselves the Lafs.
Assuming the West Balcony is new and may be just as high or higher than the 400's, I'm pretty interested to check out the view from it. 3 individual seats were available and I just grabbed two and the home opener and Winter Classic are the only games I really care to go to.
Wasn't given that as a choice on the TM page..... They have section 428 row D available now...
You can get West Balcony seats on TM by choosing the $50 ticket under Internet presale ($62.55 with fees) and then at the bottom of the page under Section choosing WEST BALCONY. The other choices under Section are Best Available, Limited View and Mezzanine Seating. Mezzanine seats are the 400s, or the blue seats for us oldtimers. Why someone would choose Limited View is beyond me.
I got one WB seat for the Sharks game, interested in checking out the view. Also the only way to check out one of the renovated spots without spending an arm and a leg to be downstairs. I like sitting up high as well.

West Balcony seats are above the 400s on the 8th Ave end. Still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that MSG replaced some suites with cheap (a relative term) seats.
Of course I believe plenty of seats down below, end 300s for example, are being sacrificed for suites or restaurants or something.

you'd be surprised...

not really. if you try to stand in the back of the 400's while the game is being played, the ushers will bother you to move to your seats once their is a stoppage.

I did not see that option anywhere on TM.....
The cheapest listed price is $70 plus TM r@pe fees
There's always empty seats in every building at some point because people are walking around, using the restroom, or buying a beer. I doubt there will be empty seats that people don't come back to.
I just got an e-mail from the Rangers stating that the tickets will be shipped starting October 10 to October 13. The message almost makes it sound like they will be mailed out in groups each day but they say all tickets should be recieved by the 15th. Also tickets can be forwarded on the 10th and Ticketexchange will be available on the 17th.
