I'm quite sure I heard today on my way back from golf (probably around 4pm) on the Team 1040 that we signed Baumgartner to a 1 year deal.... has that been confirmed yet?

I remember at the Moose season end he'd continue on with the Moose organization. I think this was around the time the move was announced.

Sweet, AV now has his call up to play in the #6 hole on the blue line 45 times per year when he sits Ballard.

Contract is listed on capgeek, source is Renaud Lavoie

2 way deal, pays $250,000 in the AHL though

The Wolves are pleased with this development.

I am a Baumer fan, I think he could be a serviceable fill-in and sterling mentor type.

And with this signing, Ballard officially moves down to 9th on the D depth chart behind Baumer

Valuable veteran to have on the farm around our young kids. Just pray he never gets into the Canucks' starting lineup.

Going to be interesting how the Wolves' line-up works out. They currently have 8 or 9 D there... Ellington is ECHL material, but the rest should be ready. Even if Tanev stays in the NHL that's still too many. Maybe Polasek will start in the ECHL and then they'll see how he does? Or maybe Connauton to polish his defense? Don't want one of our guys to be the one sitting around as the #7 D. Hmm.

I guess Gillis won't be signing his nephew Matt Pelech then. Huge D-man with right handed shot.
