This is surprising. I thought Martin was a big fan of him. I never really understood the love, personally.
Natey won't be happy.

Maybe they'll re-negotiate once he becomes a UFA (assuming they can)? Also quite surprised he wasn't qualified.

meh, not a huge fan of his but considering he wouldnt cost much, plays 100% every shift, never complain when in the press box... would have kept him as a 13th F.

Can't fault his work ethic, but he just couldn't contribute enough 5 on 5.

Surprised. I liked him. But to be realistic, this will have little impact on anything.

Nice!! McDonagh and Valentenko for nothing.
I think Pyatt is a great fourth liner, but we have a pretty deep roster this year regardless.
Watch him go on to score 30-points this year on another team though like a lot of young players have went to be better when they leave.

It's a surprise.
Even if he had really good defensive instinct aswel as good skating, his lack of offensive skills made him expendable. But I didn't think Habs were going to just let him walk away for nothing.

Fast and good on the PK but guys like him are a dime a dozen, hopefully they replace him with someone grittier that can do the same job.

Pyatt's efficacy clearing the puck will be missed.

A 24 year old penalty killer and we let him go? I wonder if he goes and plays with his brother?

Weird. He was on the cheap anyway. Hopefully this is the start of bringing in gritty bottom liners to play with White/Moen.

Nah, but I don't see the sense in this. He would of been super cheap. He's a great #13 forward. Great PKer and probably the best player on the team at getting the puck out of our zone.
He's still pretty young too.
Makes me wonder really why the trade was ever done. Pyatt was always going to be little-no offense and great defense. It's what he's been his whole life. Gomez for Higgins, Valentenko, and McDonagh is an extreme overpayment. Even worse now without Pyatt.

I guess he received an offer.
Awesome news for Pyatt ! A player like him doesn't belong in the NHL. The Canadiens will have a much better bottom 6 without him !

I guess they think White and Moen are better 4th liner ( i think they are too) the only way I will be mad that they let Pyatt go if it's Moen don't play on the 4th line next year because we will still lack offensive depth.
Gauthier need top sign a good top9 players he have no choice IMO
