Proposals for Rick Nash

I know CLB wont trade him, but lets say he was available, who would you give up from your team for him.

TO CLB: HEJDUK, HAHL AND SAUER
TO COL: NASH

Just imagine Nash on a line with Sakic........WOW.

NYR:

Al Montoya
Jamie Lundmark (even though I don't want him to be traded away and still have high hopes for him)

CBS:

Rick Nash
2005 3rd rnd pick.

Though I highly doubt that Columbus would really trade away Rick Nash.. He is one of their top future players and Columbus can't afford to trade away their best player.

I think it is.... I don't think I would do it though. A Colombus fan might ask for more though as Nash is only like 19 where Elias is 28. I wouldn't do it as a Devils fan because Elias fits into our system so well. How about -

Parise, Hale, Langenbrunner for Nash

Also would never do it... but this is what it would take. Minimum.

How much farther off would you like to be? Columbus already has a very good young goaltender in Pascal Leclaire. No use for Lundmark and Nash and a 3rd will take far more than that.

Thats true, I'm just gauging value wise because to be honest I might not do it either.

it doesnt matter what people offer, no one will land Nash, and the canucks have no chance, as the only players they would trade would screw up the team chemistry, and no matter how good nash is, he couldnt help it

:lol Calm your ass down already. I was just kidding. Columbus would NEVER ever ever ever ever trade away Rick Nash. Also, I think Al Montoya is going to be a better goaltender then Pascal LeClaire but, that's just my opinion.

Thus far I think these are all pretty funny for a 19 year old 41 goal scorer......We could never get equal value for Rick. It's fun to hear the offers though. I suspect you'll get other CBJ fans to rip this thread but since it's hypothetical, I see no harm in seeing what's offered.

I'm not sure what's funnier, the fact you think that is what it would take or the fact you wouldn't do that trade.

no he wouldnt. If he played on the Avalanche, he'd have to play defense.

Nash probably isn't going to be traded, but if I were to structure a deal that was most likely to succeed it would look like this.

Youngish top 2 defenseman OR high, high calibre defensive prospect
A serviceable veteran forward with some grit and some scoring
First rounder on a poor team OR 1st and 2nd on a good team

I don't think anyone would pay that much for him (I don't think he's worth that much). I think CBJ is going to tend to overvalue him because he's their first homegrown superstar, if they can keep him long term he's a marketer's dream.
