2011 4th round (96th overall) - C Jean-Gabriel Pageau

Hometown boy!

Should have been 96th overall. If a mod could edit that'd be great.

I would've liked St Croix, but what do I know.

This kid is very good.
He had an awesome year and playoff run with the Olympiques.

He should finish in the top point-getters in the Q this season.
It will take some time but he will play in the NHL one day.

Congratulations to Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

I heard comparisons to Danny Briere. Not so bad.

Compare to Claude Giroux and Patrice Bergeron by his coach in LHJMQ

I played against him when I was young, and friends of mine are great friend with him.

He has bunch of skills. I'm confident he will be a top 6 forward in the future.

I love these boom-bust prospects in the mid-late rounds of a draft. It's not hard to pick up 4th liners in the NHL. Top lines guys are much harder to get, and the more chances we take in the draft for them, the less we need to overpay on the market for them.

Murray is going for the homeruns on skill with the Prince, Filatov and Pageau acquisitions.

Add to that Sorensson, Hoffman, and we'll have some skill rolling into the lineup in the future

If 2 of those guys (that was just listed), can make it big, that would be huge.

Which is weird, the guy tied Eberle in points in that WJC. TSN, the Canadian media, and the Oilers board got on and havn't gotten off his jock since, and Petersson is a forgotten man because he lost a season due to back problems.

Skill alone doesn't win championships, IMO this team needs more size & toughness. In our division Boston, Buffalo & Toronto are all getting bigger & tougher, hopefully we won't get run out of the rink in future. I guess we'll see.

you just drafted 3 kids that are 6'0, 200lbs at 17/18 years old.....Zabinijad and Noesen are 2 players that don't shy away from physical contact...
