This guy is an absolutely terrible player. Not even worth futures.

Future considerations usually means nothing so I'll take it.

It's been reported as done by EE and the Lightning twitter feed.

Gervais is deemed to be terrible, Bergeron was deemed to be terrible, Jones was deemed to be terrible, Foster was a risk, and we wrote him off as an Admiral before camp, even Sir Cory Murphy was knocked by Florida fans. and they're the Panthers.

After Thompson, Bergenheim, Roloson, (Brewer) I'm not too worried to add another former Islander.

Age 26, 6'1, 200lb, right handed shot, had 17 goals and 42 points in 55 games in the AHL in 2005-06.

When we claimed him on waivers some Islander fans were calling Thompson the worst player in the NHL as well.

If it keeps Vernace off the SPTF ice I'm happy.

Wow! Didn't seem that big when he was playing with the Isles.

I'll take Jones, Vernace and Smaby any day of the week over Gervais. Hopefully this is just a favor.

What's interesting is that Gervais is an impending RFA.

You guys are going to absolutely hate him. The other guys you got from us (Roloson, Thompson, Bergenheim) at least had some glimmer of hope. Gervais does nothing, and I mean nothing, to help an NHL team win hockey games.

Sorry guys, our problem is now your problem.

Possible R. Jones replacement as the #8 Dman. So whatever I guess.

I'm sure hes absolutely awful and has no future after coming from the model franchise for general management and coaching, the New York Islanders. There is no way he wasn't in the right environment.

This is a slap in the face to future considerations. At least they use the word future!

Exactly. There might be a reason why all these former Islanders are doing so well off the Island.

So Bergenheim basically doing what he did in the Island and Nate Thompson developing into a decent player means that all crappy Islanders become magically good players when they leave?

How dare we give poor Chef Bruno icetime?!!

We gotta trade away Grabner quick. We don't want to...RUIN him!!

How's Tambellini doing?
Bergenheim had 9 goals in a single playoff with the Islanders? Oh right.

How could Bergenheim do what he did on the Island? He wasn't in the playoffs there.

No, no, no. You won't ruin Grabner. He'll just never reach anywhere close to his potential until he comes to Tampa Bay.

I'm sure he'll do that every year, because the last 326 games didn't count.

Listen, I'm not looking for trouble. I'm happy for Bergie and Thompson. Really.

But accusing the Islanders of magically suffocating every player's potential because you can name a couple of decent players, despite the fact that they were given infinite chances and much icetime has no basis.

We are not accusing the Islanders of wasting every player's potential, you mentioned Tambellini so it's only 2 of 3.
