wow!

Habs have even more money to spend now with nothing to spend it on

They'll have like 7-8 million in cap space.

We'll see what happens, he hasn't signed yet, doesn't mean he won't.

Could just mean that he hasn't signed it yet, contrary to Marinaro's report.

Let's sign Wiz then. Gorges can easily replace Hamrlik...

Renaud doesn't report Hamrlik has declined the offer, but rather him not yet accepting the contract (that is how I interpret it).

That's what I was wondering. He doesn't specify whether he rejected or whether he hasn't signed yet.

It's a blessing in disguise. Not anything to do with him really.. but if we give more ice time to the younger guys to develop. It's a good thing. Plus more money to sign or resign certain players.

I was hoping he would refuse. I like Hammer but I his best years are behind him and the last 2 seasons he wasn't really good come the end of season and playoffs. I know he was overuse with Markov's injury but I would like to see youngers players take the spot and improve instead of having an aging players getting the ice time and become less effective.

What Lavoie has said doesn't preclude what Marinaro has said, not that I'm one to ever defend tony. All lavoie has said is that at this time, the contract is not done.

He has a 50% chance of being right. If he doesn't sign all he has to say is it fell a part last minute.

Hammer not signing means, defensively, we are taking a step back.

Gorges has nowhere near the physique to cope with the forecheck of tough powerforwards out there.

I'll love to bring this thread back in six months.

Oh and pray every night that we won't have major injuries in D.

Ok, Hamrlik wants 2 or 3 years or else he'll go away. He declined the 1y deal. (It's official)

@JFChaumont: #Habs: Roman Hamrlik a refusé l'offre d'un an du Canadien. Il recherche un contrat de deux ou trois ans à Montréal ou ailleurs. Confirmé.

That's assuming the Habs don't add another d-man.

If they wanted to bring Hamrlik back, then they will surely be looking to add another d-man on July 1st.

Hammer is a tower of strength.

Not enough love and respect for him, imo.
