I'm not worried about O'Reilly or Halischuk that much -- I'd like to keep them, but ultimately, it's not a huge concern.

However, I'm very nervous about Spaling and Kostitsyn, who we absolutely cannot afford to lose...

Filed paperwork too late most likely. Never understand why you would wait until the last minute.

Never thought I'd see the words "lucky" and "arbitration" in the same sentence.

How did Nashville miss this?!?!?!

NO! he piggy-backed off of Hockey Break (without the space) after he/she called all three Philly deals (Carter, Richards, and Bryzgalov)

Well, in Chicago it happened when the Assistant GM wanted the GM's job so he conveniently screwed up. Think Paul Fenton want's to push Poile out??

I think this will be resolved. If not then we HAVE to focus on SK and Spaling. SK is one hell of a playmaker, and when he decides to actually shoot he's pretty good at scoring goals, too. Spaling is one of our best, if not our best, penalty killers. The kid is always hustling, knows where to be, and tremendously aids a shutdown line 5-on-5

or it could mean the NHL received QO's but AFTER the deadline. Won't know for sure until the investigation is done.

Guys like Kostitsyn, Halischuk and O'Reilly are going to garner a lot of interest.

Unless Nashville overpays to re-sign them as UFAs before Friday.

Doesn't it also depend when the player got the QO ?

Poile is a very good GM. It's not like their front office usually forgets whom to qualify. Maybe the draft date being so close to the deadlines?

If this happened (hasn't been confirmed) this is not a mistake you make when it happened just 2 years ago there are no excuses for this to happen if Gillis had done this we'd be calling stupidity

Preds spokeman released a statement that the reports are "speculation," and they believe that they've done everything properly.

Same thing happened in Chicago, though Dale Tallon hauled ass and re-signed all of the players (granted, overpaid them all).
...and put us in CAP HELL! Luckily he is buying up current and former Hawks like its nothing!

It's not like Mike Milbury always made bonehead decisions, he only did it sometimes!

As you know... Poile is the only GM the Preds have ever had. He's not prone to bonehead or rookie mistakes. He's probably more proficient, out of necessity, at dealing with RFA's than most GM's as well.

I don't get it. Why would there be speculation?

Josh Cooper also posted that Poile is at development camp and doesn't have the disposition of someone worried about a potential scandal.

Yes, but what are the chances that Poile pesonally mailed the QOs. Close to nil I say. Some intern or underling might have forgot to send it with the mail/FedEx/UPS.
