Well it could have been worse had you guys not filed for arbitration with Shea Weber. Aside from Kostitsyn, I really don't think you guys will suffer too much from this blunder.

Spaling is a key Pker for us and 3rd 4th liner. Same with Halischuk
Doesn't this mean the ball is in Weber's court now? He can go to arbitration and get a 1 year contract then bolt for $$$ if he wants to.. Am I right? Or has it been like this all along?
arbiter still has to rule in one side or the others favor.
Agreed. Without knowing the details, all we have is speculation. This could be a minor speed bump or a major hurdle. We'll know soon enough...possibly by the end of the week (which would be July 1st, in fact).

No.
This has nothing to do with Weber. (you guys are lucky you requested arbitration)
Weber is RFA for 2 more years. If some how you guys ask for a 1 year contract in arbitration (not likely) He is still a RFA next year. BUT you will not be able to bring him to arbitration again. (he will still have the option)
If I understand correctly anyways.
You don;t need to QO players heading to arbitration.

Weber will qualify for UFA status in 1 year.
It will never go to arbitration IMO. He'll be traded if a deal isn't done before the hearing.

Pretty sure he has 2 years of RFA left. Parise only has one.
Players become UFA at 27 years old or seven years in the NHL.

You are silly if you think he is not going to arbitration this year.
Tons of time to talk about long term or trade with sick value still.
You guys have nothing to worry about for at least for another 12 months.
NJDs on the other hand ...
Edit
oh .. he has 6 years in ..
Yeah .. BRB. going to go read something
Never mind 1st year is not enough games (pretty sure)

Reason: added b-day
Weber only has one year of RFA status. If he gets to the arbitration hearing he will sign a one year deal, at the end of which he will be a UFA. Trust us... we are fans of the team after all.

I trust you.
100% sure TSN guys said 2 years and that makes sense with how the CBA is writen.
Got a Nashville article talking about his contract talks ?
Weber is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in two years. He's one of three finalists for the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenceman, which will be presented Wednesday in Las Vegas.

Only place I see people saying "Weber can take 1 year and be a UFA" is random blogs. (by people from teams like the Canucks)
Well, this is unfortunate. I've got a bad feeling that this wont turn out well for the Preds. This is an inexcusable mistake, especially for a team on an internal budget.
They couldn't give us more heart-wrenching summers if they planned it.
What's on schedule for next year? Ice girls scandal? Nashville wanting to expand the convention center over Bridgestone's lot? Balsillie makes friends with the owners and buys in? Maybe another player defection or unexpected financial woes?
Ah, the hell with it. I'm adding some cigarettes to the whiskey-coffee.
