Would be crazy, if true. I don't see it anywhere either. Definitely would put Nabokov on the block.

Nabokov for Hudler would be a good dealio for the Isles

I'll believe Vokun when I see it. Not sure why the Isles need him but hey they are crazy like that

Turco, Conklin, Deslauriers, Elliot, Leclaire and Lalime left.

Vokoun won't be our backup.

Paging Dr. Pearce.

Elliot signed a 2 way deal with St. Louis. He's out too. Perhaps you mean Emery. It's getting awfully thin out there. I'm thinking Turco unless Vokoun sees the writing on the wall and signs. I'm not sure there's many places for Vokoun to even end up at this point.

I'm not going to rehash the Conklin nonsense, but keep in mind if they sign him that I told you he'd be awful.

Emery and Turco are FA. I could see Clemmensen, Nabokov dealt. If Wings want to move Hudler I bet they could move him in that kind of a deal

Emery is a locker room pest and gangster thats not what we need (speeding, punching employees...). I like the idea of Vokun but honestly I see him KHL bound. Guy wants to get paid big time and I'm not willing to give him a Bryzgalov like contract.

5 at max longterm, shortterm 5.5.

Noted. I will also note that you are pessimistic, love small sample sizes, and don't care for track records

So we'd pay almost twice as much for our backup goalie as we do for our starter, eh? And for a longer term? Sounds like a great idea.

Or are you saying Leclaire should be made the starter and Howard demoted to backup? That would also be a great idea.

Either way, great idea.

What does this mean:

He said of his search for a backup to Jimmy Howard: "Talked to a couple of people, but they didn’t want to be a backup to a 27-year old. Still got Osgood out there. We’ll wait 2-3 days, see if there’s a guy or two out there."

What does that mean really? anyone?

No one wants to be a back-up. They all want a shot at the #1 spot.

The reality is that most teams already have a goalie, and some have more than one who could be the #1. Translation: they wanted more money than KH wanted to spend. He sure is being stingy seeing he has all the cap space.

So, Alex Auld or Mathieu Garon don't want to be backups? Garon had no problem backing up a very young Steve Mason. Giggy has apparently signed to be Varlamov's backup and was behind on Toronto's depth chart all last season. That Holland quote just sounds like an excuse to bring back Osgood. Whatever you think of Garon, etc. at least they are healthy. If they do sign Ozzie, they desperately need a decent third stringer as insurance.
