Here comes the lame rush to the playoffs that ruins the draft pick and helps keep Lindy and Darcy's jobs.

Seven out of Eight Points? Hope? Puh-shaw!

The Good -

- Great to see a comeback win
- Ennis, the straw that stirs the drink?
- Gaustad-Regehr-Leopold on that extended PK stretch.
- Gaustad with two important goals in a week? What? Who's scouting?

The Bad -

- Team D to start the game. Way to have no intensity and act like Mites guys. Cut that **** out.

The Ugly -

- I really like a lot of the Islander roster. Martin? Streit? Grabner? JT? Can't help it... like them.

I could be wrong, but isn't this our first win when trailing after 2? Good job boys

G: MILLER!
B: very sloppy start could've/should've cost the game
U: Out of town scoreboard means still in 13th and 10 points out

G- last 30 minutes , Ennis, Miller in OT. Leino played better. Adam getting a couple shifts with some decent talent.
B- Weber in 1st. My lord. Miller in first.
U- that OT penalty. Terrible line change. Leino after the PK in OT not shooting and spinning in circles lmao.

I'd rather be 10 out than 12

Was there ever a doubt?

GOOD:

-Gaustad. Game-tying goal and huge PK in OT.
-Miller in the 3rd and OT. Made a few game-savers.
-Other than Weber on the first goal, I liked the defense as a whole.
-Leino was dominant on the puck tonight. Toying with the Isles' defensemen.
-Liked Kaleta's spunk. Seemed like that 2nd period fight sparked them a bit.
-Dominated possession tonight.
-Gutty win.

BAD:

-Adam getting 4th line minutes. One point in 24 games, including zero assists. What's he still doing here?
-Faceoffs. Isles took it to us at the dot, 43-24.

UGLY:

-Hamonic getting his face opened up. Hope he's OK.

People who seriously think, and I mean seriously think that this team as currently constructed won't get a top 10 pick. I can all but guarantee that they will get pick #10 or better.

G: come from behind victory - after playing so lame in the 1st
Miller
PK - outstanding
Ennis = energizing
Boyes
Poms
Goose
Myers
Sekera
Roy
Leino
Kaleta - fight

B: Weber

U: puck in the mouth
Islander uni's

I'd like to be more positive about Stafford because he made a heads up play at the blue line on the first goal. But he fought the puck all night and was out fought most times. I don't know what's wrong with the boy but he's not getting any better.

I can only imagine Sylvester's jubilation during and after the 3rd. And I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'd rather listen to Sylvester than those Islander announcers again... LOL

Boston's not playing well right now, so if the Sabres can get that win on Wednesday, they have home games against Dallas and Tampa next weekend. They need a big win streak right now.

Big props to Patty K. for taking on a solid middle/lightheavy in Martin and holding his own. In fact, he did more damage to Martin than Kassian did with that left hand. For a guy under 200 pounds, he sure can throw when he wants to do so.

It won't win a cup, but they are definitely playoff capable. We've seen how well they can play the last couple of games. We've been outshooting other teams, minimizing their chances, playing in their zone much more. This team is definitely a playoff team, they were just MIA for the first half of the season.

I think they need a solid 7 game win streak to have a chance.

Rewinding the DVR now to re-watch that. Interesting to see Kaleta go with the bad hand -- he's at the point that his glove looks like Hellboy out there.

Kassian, Finley, and Kaleta have all fought with Martin. Will we fight against anyone else this season?

Missed the first 23:30 of this game. Maybe I was the good luck charm?

I saw a positionally sound Sabre team who played NYI more than even in the 2nd and dominated play in the 3rd.

Awesome OT PK.

Maybe ruff has finally found the right D pairs?

@Littletonhockeycoach. I'll assume #21 still not 100% from flu.

Disappointed I missed kaletas fight.

Yes, leino was good handling the puck, but any time an isle put body to him, he was separated from it.

Miller was fine from what I saw. Didn't see any of the 3 he gave up.

Good:

- Leino had a good game
- Ennis was flying
- Roy and Stafford getting on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist, respectively.
- Kaleta droppin' em'
- Goose with the GTG
- Miller in the 2nd, 3rd, and OT
- I liked Sekera in the 3rd

Bad:

- Miller in the 1st (Not necessarily all his fault, but he needs to steal some of those)
- Weber's turnover
- Inability to convert on SO MANY FREAKIN' CHANCES!
- Stafford stood around watching the play faaar too often.
- Horrible change in OT leading to the penalty.

Ugly:

- Islanders' broadcast team. Homeriffic.

And the awesome:

- The thread title.
