Isn't Suter a UFA next season?

Suter is a UFA next year.
Weber is an RFA this year.

He's less offensive than kimmo..

Suter is an amazing defenseman, I would absolutely love to have him here.

Depends on if Timonen retires next year. If he does, the Flyers absolutely have to grab him. Judging on Kimmo's last interview though, it doesn't sound like he'll retire unless he wins the Cup.

I think Ryan Suter is a better defender than Shea Weber honestly. Not a better player, but I think a better defender. I'm always very impressed when I watch him play. There isn't a situation he doesn't handle well, odd man rushes, speedy guys, handsy guys, cycling offenses, all of it. He's really damn good.

You'd be in the majority i'd say, he's an incredibly solid defenseman. I'd go as far as saying if I could have any defenseman on this team for the future, it would be him. He's not incredibly flashy, but he gets the job done and he's so reliable.

I said it after we traded Carter/Richards, I would have been fine had we traded one of them for a guy like Suter etc, where it makes sense going ahead. In hindsight, with Nashville potentially losing a bunch of their offensive core, we likely could have traded and got Suter (As it seems they are intent on keeping Weber and are stocked at D). Complete speculation I know, just would have made more sense.

I'd be ecstatic if we got him into orange and black. I wonder how much it would take to land him in the next couple of weeks, or even at the deadline. Nashville and Philly have made tons of trades in the past, so you never know.

They are potentially going to be needing some real help for their offense. After trading Carter/Richards, we'd be seriously hampering ourself by trading away a few forwards.

I'd consider Versteeg+Carle+Late Pick, unsure if it would get the deal done. Depends how their organization views Carle I guess. Something tells me they would want a whole lot more.

I would drop Kimmo in a second if it meant getting Suter.

I like the tradition of using Nashville as our defensive farm team.

What ever happened to Ryan Parent, anyways?

The centerpiece of the Forsberg deal.

Quite sure injuries plagued him so bad his growth never really got a chance.
