He has a tendency to skate the wrong way towards the puck, i.e. if it gets shot around the boards from the right to the left he'll skate to the right.

his contract is pretty bad.... i think if he got his legs going he might be a alright nhler. Sat a lot....put in the lineup/on the ice randomly, looked rusty and unready for nhl speed. (he got the opportunity, but didnt stick)

It's a joke, I'm not gonna get pissed if you say Sherman is a cheapass with commitment issues. Sather's a great trader, but a terrible FA signer. Seriously, if he got that together you guys would be in a great position, he always seems to buy low in the trade market and buy high on the free agency.

Finger is a serviceable bottom pairing dman. He'll never be mistaken for a great defender, but you can throw him on the ice for 14-17 minutes a night and not be any more worried about him than anyone else you'd put in that spot.

The real problem is that he's overpaid by more than double.

If a team that wants to reach the floor wants him though, go for it, we'll take a 7th rounder to clear the salary.

He'd make a solid 5th/6th defenseman on most teams...if his contract was 1-1.5M.

Pretty dependable in his own zones, hits, blocks shots a ton of shots, and chips in a surprising amount of goals (8 in 72 games in 07/08 and 6 in 66 games in 08/09).

You can always sign a guy who might get 1M in most places to a 1 year over inflated contract

obviously doesnt have the skill to contribute up front really, but can block and hit and works hard

it was mostly the contract that did him in, plus crowding on the Leafs' D
