If some posters can clarify to me as I read on the Nashville forum that Ryan Ellis can only go NHL or OHL as his birthdate just misses that rule? So could he be sent back just before christmas if he doesn't make the NHL this season?

Thanks
Hes played 4 years in the OHL, he can go to the AHL if he does not make the NHL.
The rule states that you can play in the AHL only after you have played four years in the CHL or turn 20 by a certain date.
Prime example is John Tavares, who had he not made the Islanders (I know) he would have been eligible to play in the AHL at 18. Spezza played in the AHL at 19 because he played in the OHL as a 15 year old.
I was tooling around and saw the Flames traded for some tough guy named Leblonde from New Jersey. I decided to check out some youtube clips of his scraps because I've heard his name but never seen him go. My first choice to watch was a fight he had with former Spitfire great Cam Janssen:
Damn, it might be one of the best fights I've ever seen to be honest. I know this is not a fight thread, but who here doesn't just love Cam Janssen?
I remember going on a road trip to see the Spits play Mississauga (Ice Dogs then) early in Cam's rookie season. I think it was Cherry's first home game behind the bench for Missy as well, and I got seats right behind the visitors penalty box. The game was a tame affair for the most part, which surprised me. I would have expected the dogs to come out scrapping for Don right off the hop but it was pretty sad.
At one point Frank Rediker was in the box, and we got his attention. We told him he needed to kick somebody's ass, but he looked at us like we were from outer space. Later that period Cam was in the box and we did the same. Cam turned around and told us he wanted to but none of them would drop the gloves. He then spent the rest of the game chasing guys around to get them to go, with no success. He's been a favorite of mine since then, truly embodying all that is great about Windsor hockey.
Think it might be Elton John....his concert at DTE Energy Music Thetre was recently cancelled....also read a mention that he might be in Sydney, Nova Scotia sometime in September and the article stated it was going to be announced this Monday and was the biggest concert announcement in Cape Breton Island history.
Just so he could cancel again? I don't think ticket sales will be very good.
Come to think of it, you never see Meat Loaf and the fat guy who sings anthems in the same room at the same time.... perhaps you are right and they are the same guy.
I think he cancelled the first time because of poor ticket sales, no surprise really. If he performed with the b*tcht*ts from Fight Club he'd probably have more interest.

So they were bad the first time...will be even worse the second time. Besides, the guy is way too fat and way to old to sing live anymore. Have you seen any of his latest live material. He gets winded from picking up the mic!
I would have to agree that all evidence seems to point to Elton John. Not really my cup of tea, but if Windsor can land a show like that then that is cool.
Well one mystery solved as it is Elton John playing the WFCU in September with seats starting at $95.
However whatever is being built on the corner of McHugh and Lauzon Rd is still a mystery. They've laid curbing for a parking lot - you'd think that would be added last if there was a building going up. Could it just be a parking lot over flow for the car wash across the street or the used car dealership on the diagonal corner?

I like Elton John, but $95 is a bit much for a minimum price.
As for the new development...if it's just a parking lot, that's rather disappointing. It'll stick out like a sore thumb until something else is built.
As for Wallace - congrats to him!! I think he'd be a fun coach.
I don't know if they're the most reliable source to ask, but I asked one of the construction people working on the curbs on the site
Me: Hey, do you know what's going here?
Dude: A parking lot.
Me: For.....?
Dude: Parking.
Me: Yeah, but like parking for a store that's gonna be built here?
Dude: Nope, just auxiliary parking
Me: :-(
If that dude is wrong however, place your bets
3/1 - new Tim Horton's to replace the way too tiny one on Lauzon and Matthew Brady
10/1 - new Petro Canada to replace the one that closed on Tecumseh and Forest Glade
15/1 - a chain sit down restaurant ala Kelsey's, Montana's, Armando's, etc
25/1 - a fast food restaurant
1,000,000/1 - The Franchise II
News from the underground - that development on the corner or McHugh and Lauzon Rd is going to be a used car lot. Not any affiliation with the car lot on the diagonal corner, but rather competition for it. It's under a short lease, basically meaning that when the owner wants to develop the land or sell it they'll just rip up the lot no problems. New lot owner could be the same guy who has cars for sale at the car wash across the street, and might use the car wash office as office for car lot as well.
