155 points. So yeah, I don't see it being much of an issue.
Assuming we don't add anyone, I think:

Edler - 50
Bieksa-35
Ballard - 30
Hammer-25
Salo - 15 (injuries)
Rome/Alberts/Tanev (25 total)

Which means there's not much drop off. Of course last year we had so many injuries which hurt point totals.

I think Ballard gets more free rein offensively and gets some chemistry with his teammates. He was out of sync much of the year.

If Bieksa can turn it around, so can Ballard.

For people who are trying to sell that the canucks are somehow "better" after ehrhoff leaving should seriously think realllllllllllll hard, and you will notice we just gave up a great puck moving d-man who put up 50 points.

Unless the canucks do something big and get some great offense, and a depth d-man, this is a huge lose and it DID make the canucks worse.

Edler at 50, Juice at 45, Hammy - 25, Ballard 25.

Then fringe points after that, especially with Salo injured half the year imo, that is IF we ever sign him, two years is too many for Mr. Glass.

10 years 40 million. Great deal for both parties.

Canucks got owned by the Sabres on this one. Pegula steps up!

That would be dumb given what the Canucks were offering.

Awaiting confirmation on this, but hearing Ehrhoff's deal in Buffalo is 10 years, $40 million. No clue yet on structure within that

Ehrhoff is far from terrible defensively, but he does have serious struggles with almost every power forward in the league. Good stick-work though, especially on the PK.

Offensively is where I think he is getting a little overrated. He had incredible support here in Vancouver, for his type of game.

I watched pretty much every canucks playoff games and seems you guys are really underrating his defensive play. and with myers, weber, and regehr he does not need to be a hitter

$40M over 10 years??? That's something I definitely would have done. NMC for the first 3 years, NTC for the next 2, and then nothing for the remaining 5.

Amazing cap hit, terrible term.

I'm fine with Gillis not doing this. I would not have wanted Ehrhoff on a 10 year contract, even at $4 million.

You realize he was -13 in the playoffs right? He was pretty bad. Granted he had a bum shoulder for about half of the playoffs.

Nobody is saying the Canucks will be better by Ehrhoff's depature. Some of us trust Gillis will be able to use that cap space well.

That length is crazy. Don't really get it for Ehrhoff.

That that cap hit? In a $*&#ing second.

Hopefully Gillis has some trades in mind, or his internal-salary-structure nonsense is veering towards the Dave Nonis sit-on-your-hands approach. Now is not the time for the Canucks to rest on their laurels. Next few months should prove interesting, as Gillis has clearly taken probably his biggest risk as a GM here.

Less risk of not getting value out of that deal for Ehrhoff (if #s are right) than there is hoping Ballard reforms his entire career for 4.2 million. Canucks could have dumped Ballard in a ditch on the side of the highway and kept Ehrhoff and saved 200k!

50 points on defense, playing like a 2nd/3rd pairing defenseman.

And a terrible contract.

While that's a terrific cap hit right now, Ehrhoff's going to be 39 when that deal ends. I understand why Buffalo did it, but it wouldn't have made much sense for the Canucks. I mean Gillis didn't even want to commit to the Sedin's for that long. At least he's not going to Detroit or Chicago though.

This isn't just about Gillis anymore. I don't think Aquilini would go for that for Ehrhoff.
