Yet he's not even signed yet...

No way to all of the above for a variety of reasons as a Sabres fan. No if the deal is Parise for Roy straight up.

Sabres don't need wingers. We have 8 billion of them.
Roy has put up points at the same rate as Parise and plays a more important position.
Roy will make less than Parise for the next few years.
Roy plays more on the PK.

Devils fans are way overvaluing Parise.

Agreed. I can appreciate how excited all the Sabres fans are after years of tightwad ownership and I'm happy that the Sabres finally have ownership that is throwing some money around. But you guys need to relax a little bit. There is a salary cap.

Obviously.

Buffalo wouldn't be the only team spending big money. Obviously money would have to go out but its possible.

We got someone on our team with a Better ppg and gpg names
Thomas vanek who is just as good.

There are 3 players I'd ever trade Myers for, and that's Sid ,ovy and stamkos.

Devils fans are not overvaluing Parise.

Most of the adjusted proposals do not include Roy in them and other Sabres fans have mentioned NOT wanting to trade him. The Devils do not have a major organizational need for centerman when compared to the need for RWs and PMDs.

If the Devils are going to trade their best all-around player, they are going to fill one of those needs.

Because we don't want to trade him, unless it's an offer Lou can't refuse.

Other teams would offer far more. There's no reason for Lou to settle for a subpar return for his superstar.

Wait a while, it'll get done. Lou does things by his own schedule.

That's a ridiculous argument against him being a franchise player.

what do you fans of other teams not understand that the Devils DO NOT want to trade Parise? if they ever decide too, it will only be becuase he wants out or if they get a ridiculous overpayment.

when will you get this through your heads? its really not hard to understand.

man you guys are terrible at trade proposals...its not complicated:

NJD trades: Parise, 2012 2nd, Corrente, Kinkaid

for

BUF- Mancari, 2012 3rd, Miller, Niedermayer, Vanek

NJ gets the defenseman they need most of all, and the Sabres are able to dump 2 horrible contracts (Vanek/Mancari)

boom

Holy spin doctor.

On what planet is Mike Richards better than Parise? Parise clearly the better player offensively and they're both comparable defensively. Richards was traded because he was causing issues in the dressing room, while no one has ever said anything but great things about Parise's leadership skills and he's clearly the Devils next captain. And you'd rather take the guy with the hundred year contract that has clearly underwhelmed since he signed it?

That "center prospect" you mentioned is almost universally accepted as the best prospect in hockey. I personally like Sekera, but #4 guys who show flashes of brilliance and flashes of awful are a dime-a-dozen in today's NHL. I wouldn't mind taking him and having him work with Robinson as a project player, but he clearly doesn't have as much value as a guy like Wayne Simmonds who is a 22 year old with 3 years of NHL experience and has already shown he can contribute consistently at this level (something Sekera hasn't established yet).

And before you ask, I would not take that LA package for Parise, regardless of contract status.
