Habs interested in Hemsky.

Appears Habs have inquired about Ales Hemsky.

Can't say I am surprised.

Another soft Euro who will fit right in our system.

It sais we were interested during the season. Don't know how hot PG would be still for Hemsky. Plus I don't even want to know what they would ask for.

Not for me.

We need a powerforward in our top 6.

No thanks.

Wouldn't be completely against it, but I'm just not a huge fan of Hemsky.

Asking price will probably be too steep.

I don't understand why people who don't watch hockey are allowed to post here.

They should be. They need a top-line RW and the Oilers are crazy enough to make Hemsky available. He'd be a terrific fit.

Disagree. Hemsky has no trouble going into traffic. If he was soft, he might actually have an easier time staying healthy.

The title of this thread should read "Habs WERE interested in Hemsky in 2010-2011"

Hemsky's a great player and I think he would be a great fit with Pacioretty.

They would probably be asking too much though.

Agreed, they love to throw the Habs name into every top 6 fwd available. but....

I think he would fit will in our top 6. Very skilled and fast, able to setup Cammy from the opposite wing, and anyone saying he's a typical soft Euro has never seen him play. No he isn't a Pwr Fwd, but he's not scared of traffic or hanging around in front of the net..

pending on the asking price, and with the available UFA's I think this could be a very good move for the Habs, he is still young enough to provide leadership to the younger guys, and be around as the younger players ie: Leblanc, Tinordi, Beaulieu join the team in a couple years.

don't belive tfp very much.

but anyway, hemsky would be solid additon to our roster. he is not the type of guy we desperately need, but i wouldn't mind hemsky for leblanc for instance. but it would take probably much more.

If the price is right, why not.

We need another top 6 forward.

Spare me.

The man is brittle. He has played 69 games over the past two seasons.

But...you have no clue what you're talking about?

Stop sidestepping. Please.

Don't know what's the asking price, but I'm not sure how much they can realistically ask for a pending UFA.

Wait, wait, wait... Are all of you really saying that you don't want Ales Hemsky? Have you SEEN Ales Hemsky, the man is a complete baller. Great playmaker! If we can ditch Gomez.

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Gionta
Pacioretty-?????-Hemsky

Eller would put up some great numbers playing with Pacioretty and Hemsky.

Hemsky? Maybe...

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Hemsky
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
Kostitsyn - Eller - Desharnais
Darche - White - Moen

Markov - Gorges
Gill - Subban
Spacek - Yemelin

Price

OMG grit pl0x.

I'd take 10 Eagers and 6 Carcillos over a Hemsky.

I added the prefix "Speculation" to the title.

Hemsky is one of the most talented players in the league, and he is not soft at all. Just because he has a European name, does not make him soft. He does have injury concerns...But either way, the guy puts up PPG numbers on a terrible team.
