Probably a good deal for both sides. Both have had bad years. (Sutton was slow - big surprise, I know - and didn't seem to able to bring his physical game, instead ending up with a minor penalty in every other situation.) Foster became even more expendable in Edmonton with Barker signed, and the Ducks have more of use for Foster's (right-handed) shot and type. Saving almost half a million is also helping the Ducks out a little.
He has a nice shot but didn't really produce as much as hoped for the Oil. If the Ducks can put him in a system like he was in Tampa he will be a good addition. ES though he isn't very good. He's big but doesnt really use his size much and is a bit defensively suspect. Still if you can get him producing on the PP it will be more than worth having him on your team.
Sutton is a freaking pile... He is a big slow oaf that wasn't physical, played terrible on the PK, brought zero offense and proved he didn't belong In the line-up. Hopefully he finds his game or SOME game in Edmonton because he isn't worth the league minimum at this point.
Don't really care if foster was disappointing last year, maybe he just needs a new system. So a good move by both sides.
I seriously want the oilers fan who proposed this trade a few months ago to show his face, he is talent.
