Is this our guy? (especially seeing as Chi traded for Montador's rights)..
What about Sheldon Souray? If the Oilers buy him out..........his rep is at an all time low, he could replace Ehrhoff at the point on the PP, he's a massive physical presence on the ice........if he's really cheap, how bout him as a depth guy?

I heard that Wade Redden was available. What about him?
Not good enough for Columbus but good enough for us? No thanks.
I thought that was mostly due to his contract? Can't say that I've watched him much in the last while. My biggest concern with any defender (and player for that matter) is his mobility, if its good its worth a look at least.

For around what Alberts got, sure I guess.
Doesn't seem like many good options left in the UFA market.
The Souray suggestion is also intriguing for just the PP presense. Having both Salo n Souray as slap shot options would give our PP the same potency as before.
just because a guy is available and used to have a high salary - commodore, jovanovski, ect. - doesn't mean picking him up is a good idea, even if it's a 1-year contract
I don't think people realize that Commodore is a good 5th / 6th guy, he was just offered a contract he couldn't live up to. He was the #3 d-man during Carolina's cup run, including >3min/game shorthanded toi..
He's 32 years old now, and he's better than Alberts IMO. Maybe Rome too.

Whats the point? It's arguable he's better than either Alberts or Rome and he'll likely make in the same range as them. There isn't much point here, he's redundant. Both Alberts and Rome are also known quantities to the coaching staff and the players.
God no.
No to Commodore
No to Upshall
No to Kennedy
We are getting as delusional as Leafs fans only instead of dreaming about Stamkos or Richards we're trying to revive everyone's career or trying to pick up a 3rd liner posing as a 2nd liner.

Good one!
Doesn't Commodore have eye issues? Souray might actually be a better fit, as silly as that sounds.
Vancouver's days of patchwork defence are over. The Canucks have a good defence as it stands. Adding a guy like Montador to the bottom end is all that is needed, IMO.
