How can you say that when Scott played for the Wild in 09?
I can't find the clip... but remember when John Scott pivoted from skating forwards to backwards and tripped over himself, fell and a goal was scored on us?
That was truly a defining moment of "this guy can't skate... at all". I have a hard time believing a guy with his sub-par skating can still have a career in the new NHL.

Because it's the truth. Bruno will make Scott look lightning fast! Trust me! I've seen Bruno skate live for YEARS since I've been a season ticket holder since '03.
Brunette is a quality pick up for you guys--congrats. Awesome guy, and amazing around the net...the wild could have held on to him but sadly we had trouble keeping the puck long enough for Burno to set himself up in the kitchen last year and I really don't think anything has changed in that department; glad to see he got to go somewhere with a chance at a cup.
Now I'm torn between wanting the Sharks to finally win (with Burns) and wanting the Hawks to get the cup back (always may favorite non-Wild team).

That's great to see. Kane/Toews need a guy who can be around the net and finish the deal, especially against teams with solid goaltenders.
We scored a lot of highlight goals last year but nobody was there to pick up the trash and get us some easy ones. Brunette is the perfect guy to come in and do that. Luongo won't have it as easy next time we play them.

It happens, I saw Lidstrom do the same exact thing on a power play, resulting in a 2-0 shorthanded goal.
After that play I adjusted my thinking when a bad play happens when coaching youngsters. I even use that Lidstrom video to make a point to them.

Luongo didn't have it easy last time we played him. We lit him up in the playoffs, we just waited one game too long to wake up. But yes, this will make things even worse for him. I'm excited about this pickup.
I bet bruno gets his numbers back up to just a few years ago. Playin with such good players in Chicago it isn't hard to believe he gets 25 g and 30-40 assists. Once he gets behind the opposing teams net hes money. You can't take the puck away from him. You guys are going to love him.
This was the one pick I knew would happen, unless Brunette's demands were way out of whack..... and Stan admitted that they keyed on him immediately as a very good fit for their needs. If he does play on the #1 line, then 20 goals should be easily attained, 25 goals is very reachable and 30 not out of the question by any means. It's been a while since a linemate of Toews and Kane could be expected to do that.
Unless he declines rapidly, I'd expect 50-60 points. We will finally have a player for the front of the net on the powerplay. Kopecky had the desire but lacked the hands. Brouwer sorta had the desire but lacked the hockey sense. Toews was horribly misused their as it was a waste of his talent.
Kyle Calder before he sucked is what the top six has needed for awhile. Thrilled with this signing.
Disgruntled beat me to it. I came to post about him being a power play specialist, too. Instead of that play where Toews tries to stuff it, you can have Brunette pass it for a one-time or stuff it himself and go get those garbage goals from just outside the net when rebounds occur. Oh, and speaking of the power play, no more Sharp on the point.

If he plays on the top line, he's going to have a really good year. He put up pretty nice numbers with garbage around him in Minnesota. With Toews and Kane he's going to shine.
sorry but no, I doubt he will be a 55-60 Point Player. I want 41 Points. If he gets more I'm happy
Just to warn you...5 on 5 in transition...he's a major liability. In the defensive zone, he's completely absent...he plays really high in the d-zone so he can cheat and leave early on a turnover...but he still ends up in the offensive zone last due to his molasses like skating.
If he's asked to skate with the puck in open ice, don't be surprised if he gives it away...he's only effective from a couple feet from the goal, or in his office behind the net.
Bruno will be more like Buff in the playoffs than anything else if you're looking for a comparison. We really needed a guy like this. It's such a good fit I could see him hitting 25 goals, 50 points.

Agree on the buff comparison. He doesn't need to be fast, he wasn't fast when he was younger. Love this pick up and hoping we re sign him next year if he works out well.

except Buff was actually a good skater for his size.
I made the Ladd comparison mainly because of his experience and craftiness around the net. And my burning desire to see Ladd come back may have had an influence too!
