Would rather commodore for 1M or OD at 850.

I'm a big Lilja fan (just look at all my line combos for next season when I included him as the 6/7 dman, haha). Psyched on this move. For $750k you can't beat it.

I don't hate this move as long as they give Gust the chance to take his spot as the 6th dman

He only was with the Ducks for one year.
Issue is that he gets hurt. He's not going to contribute like O'Donnell did.

Hopefully we stay pretty healthy and he won't need too. Would have liked someone else but at 750k its not a big deal. Hey remember we have an actual goalie now, our D doesn't need to be ridiculous and be able to cover up sub par goalie play.

I fear Lilja is the 6th defenseman, and Gustafsson and Bartulis are going to be relegated to the sidelines or the AHL.
Well, I'm going to break it out and, dust it off.
At least we now have two black guys on the team.

Not a big deal but I'm not sure he will have that much added value...I think Meltzer suggested as much. Anyway..he'll become a pretty quick goat boy in the Kukkonen and Modry mold....

RT @capgeek: Andreas Lilja's #NHL #Flyers contract is a 35-plus deal with a $737,500 cap hit
He also has him at 2 years

Why would anyone give Lilja a 2 year deal? I know its only 740k, but thats 740k we can't do anything with. The only way that cap hit goes away is if he gets hurt and we put him on LTIR.

TSN has it as a one-year deal.

The Flyers also added Andreas Lilja, 35, a defenseman who struggled in Anaheim last season but won a Stanley Cup with Detroit, to a one year deal worth $750,000.

Agreed. Players like Lilja should have taxi meters on the back of their uniforms programmed to run only when they are on the ice.
