Guys, I have diarrhea. But it's unclear if my poop is watery.
I'm in the hunt for some new shoes. But it's unclear if I've actually looked for any.
Flyers would like to sign Mario Lemieux. But it's unclear if he's available.
I don't think that Brooks' sources report is that ridiculous about Babchuk and Rupp. All it means is that they called those two players and said "We're interested in you, but we have to figure out this situation first before we know what we can offer you." It means they're interested, but there's no formal offer on the table, yet.
I'm not sure that I see where Babchuk fits in to the scheme of the D here. Either someone has to get traded or one of MDZ and Erixon doesn't make the team. Erixon is pretty much in from what I've read - I suppose MDZ could be out again but I'm not sure.
Rupp is interesting to me as long as we don't pay too much. Say 1.2 mil. He's a 4th liner but good enough for 10 minutes a game. He can play a bit. He'll knock in the odd goal. He's not just a waste. He can also fight with the heavy's. He's not a great heavyweight but he's a respectable one. I love Prust but he should not be fighting the real goons. 1) he's a better player than most all of them 2) sooner or later he's really going to get hurt. Rupp would take some of the pressure off of Prust.
Man, these backup goalie signings are proving what a bargain we got in Biron last season.
All of the people in my office are LIVID that Jagr and Talbot went to Philly. I sent an email to the office distribution list and just listened to the screams from all of the offices and cubes.

I have no problem with either Rupp or Babchuk - IF the price is right. IMO both would be decent adds at under $2MM and not too many years. Both would be terrible at anything more expensive or longer term. Nice depth players with specific skills if paid accordingly.
EDIT: hahaha - and Rupp signs for 3 years at $1.5 per year. Just about right. Would've maybe liked 2 years instead, but I'm not overly fussed about it. THIS is the kind of muscle I like - maybe not the best fighter, but can hold his own with the heavyweights and, more importantly, can actually contribute as an actual hockey player.
