Then I'd hope he gets traded. He seems like a pseudo-second line center. I don't like that. He struggled a solid bit to get to 20 goals, and I'd rather have someone more offensively talented in that role.

He's better offensively imo than Upshall.

And regarding Richards, he is accepting meetings at his agents office, and Tallon is not there. Can it get any clearer?

@pb1300 probably done for today...that number doesn't seem to include reinprecht's $2 million for next year

I pointed this out earlier and someone said the Rangers are doing it over the phone. Regardles, point stands. The media knows the teams interested and we are not one.

Neither are the Rangers, but they're still clearly in the running.

Maybe. I'm just not sold on Santorelli offensively. Especially considering he is giving us a tough time signing him. Just rubs me wrong completely.

God, people still think we ever stood a chance at Richards? Hi Brad, please disregard the chance to play in LA with all of their superstars an on a team on the cusp of greatness. Please disregard playing in the largest city in the US. Please disregard going home to where you started your career. How about you waste away your career in South Florida instead? We haven't done dick in a decade, but please oh please sign with us?

I wish anyone who ever mentioned Richards should create an apology thread for time rendered.

I agree Howden has a better chance.
I think he's a third line player, too.

But people are asking what our top 6 looks like right now...we don't have 6 forwards better (or at least, more proven) than Kopecky right now.

On this current roster, Kopecky is top 6. There could certainly be another move made, though.

For what it's worth, the team certainly seems to value Kopecky as a potential top 6, considering the deal that they gave him.

Exactly. These experts might not be right all the time, but they know more than anyone else here. When nobody mentions the Panthers in the same sentence with Richards, even Eklund, then you know it is not going to happen.

I think Fleischmann might be our next signing. I bet he could be had for a fair price. Leino will be way too much.

I am sick and tired of getting defense.

WE NEED SOME SCORERS.

You CANNOT win a game without OUTSCORING the opposition and we do NOT have the firepower to do that.

Stop with the damn defensemen and get some SCORERS!!!!

I don't disagree, but unfortunately, there are no scorers available that are top line talent and that's what we need. Don't even say what's his name, cause that was never possible.

The defensive pool was deep this year and the offensive pool was weak.

We definitely need another top 6 guy to improve our depth, at the very least.

Then maybe one of Howden/Huberdeau can surprise, never know. We'd be solid, in that case.

Either way, we really need another forward who can produce right now. If we don't get that player, it's likely a lottery team again because the scoring will be similar...only with goaltending that won't be capable of stealing as many games.

We added 4 forwards, 2 dmen and a goalie . I am pretty sure tallon will use the rest for santo, gudbranson and matthias plus leave reserve in case one of our prospects make the line up

What's up with Samsomov??

And I wonder what Vokoun is asking? How do Budaj, Auld, etc. get deals and Varlamov gets moved to Vokoun's supposed destination, what gives?

That post you quoted was written just before we acquired Versteeg. I'm guessing we're done now. Or, at least, close to done.
