Brust hasn't proved a thing at the NHL level. He won't even be in Binghamton next year, according to Murray.

Seriously dude, are you Brust's cousin or something? I haven't seen someone riding a guy's **** so much since the last porn I watched.

Alex Auld = 223 NHL games, 30 y/o
Barry Brust = 11 NHL games, 27 y/o

Is it really that hard to understand that Brust was a huge part of Binghamton's success this year and while they understand they're moving on... they still wish the best for the guy who was carrying their team early on?

they arent going to bring brust back because it could be a problem for lehner in bingo. brust became a fan favourite down there for good reasons and if lehner has a rough patch, you gotta know that the bingo fans are going to be pressuring them to give brust a shot. the organization doesnt want that. they want a goalie who can go down there, support lehner, maybe push him a LITTLE bit, but who won't cause a goalie controversy. brust can't be down there again if we want to give lehner the opportunity to play 60+ games.

I believe MaindotC was advocating Brust to be the back-up in Ottawa not Bingo. Brust in Bingo makes no sense. he is too good to be a back-up playing 15-20 games. He deserves to be a starter on an AHL team.

He does not however deserve to be a back-up in the NHL at this point. What would that serve? A bigger paycheck for him? He needs to play and establish himself and may just do that in the next year or two. There was no room for him in the organization to give him that opportunity. Better for Brust to sign somewhere where he can get a legitimate shot.

I would look to the Sens to sign or trade for an older goalie for Bingo that has had some experience in the NHL and can be called up in case of injury, but the main job would be to tutor Lehner in handling the nuances of being an NHL goalie (dealing with ups and downs, media, teammates, coaches, etc.) I think Lalime would be a good choice IMO.

How can anyone want Lalime back?

The guy was a joke. He played on a great team with an awesome defense, and he folded under pressure every single time. He is a choker. Big time. He's a career backup.

I don't mind Auld at all. He was good for us. He is a good backup.

Lalime was finished in Ottawa after those Nieuwendyk goals. Honestly two of the worst goals I've ever seen in my life. Just devastating.

People can cherry pick his stats, or his success against the Flyers all they want, it doesn't change the truth.

I hear Tugnutt still lives in Stittsville, let's sign him up.

Auld is a team first guy, who has embraced his role in the NHL. He wont be a headcase and cause issues. He will be nothing but a positive for are younger players.

That said I was hoping for him all long because i liked him two years ago when he played for us.

He means backup for the AHL. What else is Lalime doing?

John Holmes can't read English. What a surprise.

Thanks Sensfanman for quoting him, I had forgotten why he was on my ignore list. Now I remember.

I felt good about this signing until i saw Vokoun signed for .5 million more. Of course he wants to be the starter, but its still tough to pass on.

What on earth makes you think he would have possibly signed here for that amount? Seriously?

Vokoun wants a cup, not to babysit a bunch of kids under 25. No way we get him for 1.5 million.

Seriously? Reread what i posted, use dollar amount Melnyk will pay Auld for this year, add .500 million (the difference in amount Vokoun signed for in Washington...1.50 million if you can't add and obviously you do not know how) and TADA.
