I saw a tweet from Dreger (I think) that said the Flyers are interested in Brad Richards. Who are they going to ship out next?

We have about $6m to spend, 3 bottom 9 spots to fill.

ordered by price, not lineup:

Heatley - Thornton - Marleau
Clowe - Pavelsi - Couture
Mitchell - Mcginn - Desjardin
X - X -X

Murray - Boyle
Vlasic - Burns
Vandermeer - Demers
Braun

If you figure at least one of those X's will be a call up we have around 5.5m to spend on two bottom 6 players heh.

Man Belanger at 3 yrs / 1.75 per, that's an awesome deal for a very consistent player these past 4 years.

I would love to pick up another 3rd liner like Wellwood.

Vandermeer proves that even lesser guys with low cap hits can be signed today.

Come on DW, make the following deals happen:

3 years, $3M total ($1M cap hit) or less for Zenon Konopka

2 years, $2.4M total ($1.2M cap hit) or less for Kyle Wellwood

This deal ticks me off. This one is reasonable and he would have been fine on the 3rd line.

It wouldn't be pretty, but the Sharks could conceivably fill those 3 spots with a combination of Ferriero/McLaren/McCarthy/Mashinter/Wingels.

Not going to win a cup with that. Hell, not going to kill penalties with that.

Sharks could solve that problem easily with a combination of Miettinen, Kanopka, or a host of other guys. I'm not worried really.

I'm even warming upto the idea of Nolan for league minimum.

i'd rather let Wellwood go than re-sign him at $1.6M.

Let's go Modano-Konopka-Nolan for the fourth line, with Modano and Nolan both on league min one year deals to win it all now. With Konopka's faceoff prowess winning the puck for these guys, you never what they could do as a fourth line. 50% LOL, 50% kinda intriguing...

I was gonna do $1.5M but I was too lazy to change it on capgeek and just put 1 in front of his current salary.

I still haven't heard exactly why, but apparently there's zero chance Nolan is back in SJ. Apparently too many "bridges were burned."

But personally, I'd kill to see him back.

Just go with Modano, Langenbrunner, Nolan and tell them that it's actually 1999.
