There was a reason that it was reasonable and that Edmonton got him. Edmonton is not a prime destination and Belanger is not good.

Wilson: haven't had any conversations with Wellwood in recent times. #sjsharks

That kinda sucks.

haha... really!?

I bet they were planning on bringing him back until they got Burns. Gonna miss White, liked him a lot. Just can't afford him.

I'm pretty sure DW is looking for some speed and forechecking ability. I'm not quite sure why everyone is into the idea of Belanger as a Shark. It would be a terrible fit. We'd be better with Wingels than Belanger and for way cheaper.

Well let's hope so. Our bottom six would get eaten alive at this point.

I agree, doesn't make sense. The kinds of guys we need there are still quite a few available. After all the absurd frenzy signings they are now left somewhat without a chair and the music is winding down. DW will do what he does and sweep a couple of them up for chump change.

I can't even speculate on it - who the hell is even left?

What could we trade for a forward? Our prospects are limited and picks next year are going to be a premium.

So who's left that we should hope for/think about?

Besides Kenopka and Miettinen, I'm stumped.

Zenon Konopka. Tough, gritty 4th liner who was 4th in the entire NHL in faceoff % last year. That's should one of DW's top targets at this point.

Maybe Gagne on a 1yr deal @$3-3.5m? Let him be the sniper for Thornton?

Bergenheim and Madden are still out there as well, but our Bottom-6 is not looking too good if you put Pavs back in top-6

Mitchell with McGinn, Desjardins, McLaren, Mashinter, and Ferriero? McCarthy as 13th guy? No offense, but that's s***...

Yeah. Surprised he didn't get snapped up. Players liked him were getting snapped up all day on ridiculous contracts.

THe biggest issue for the Sharks is term, I bet, with Couture and Burns' re-signings, we don't want to get too locked in next year.

Ya Gagne would make a lot of sense as he's a top-6 guy with speed, just the injury issue so I wouldn't pay more than say 2-3m.

There are options.

I think his asking price will be a little higher than we would want to give him.
