Great move if he's the third guy.

It's a 2-way deal. He's going to Springfield.

It's a 2 way deal so I'm assuming he's going to be the top guy in Springfield

He's the Springfield goalie.

Looks like an AHL signing, hasn't played in the NHL since 08-09, only 19 games too.

Its a two way deal, hopefully they aren't counting on him to be the backup. Otherwise, Mason gets 70 starts this year.

And... I somehow missed the two-way part. I'll just see myself out now.

This was my exact thought when I saw the signing.

Looks like Mark Dekanic was just signed to be the backup to Mason.

Wasn't Sanford on waivers at the same time Dubielewicz was in 08-09?

Love this signing. Sanford could likely end up the backup and spot starter.

Big statement to Mason here.

.930 SV%, 1.93 GAA in Hamilton last year. Springfield must absolutely love this move.

Allen York, your mentor has arrived, and he is a certified AHL badass.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

Yeah, I believe so, but he's been a beast in the AHL, and is meant now for stability.

Don't count Sanford out. The guy is a hard worker and a solid goalie. His numbers in 05-06 for the last place Blues were amazing. A good signing for you guys.

He's a hard worker and that makes him a pretty good backup. He's a really good AHL goalie, but I'd give an edge to Garon if it was btwn him and Sanford.

Well... on a two way deal this is a pretty solid move. Howson is working with what he's got. Give some good goaltending hopefully give the d-men in the AHL some confidence.

The scouting report is pretty simple: AHL goalie who can fill in as an NHL backup in the short term.

I'd have to imagine that he'll be splitting time fairly evenly with Allen York in Springfield, which will be good for all involved parties.

Agree... Maybe the lowest risk move of the day... Great, solid move.

What I was getting at was that I remember wanting Sanford over Dubie on that waiver claim. I was just making sure it was him.

Better late than never, especially with those stats.
