I don't mind this signing but it begs the question, who's the odd player(s) out in Springfield. We have a lot of players signed and I wasn't a fan of hearing a revolving door on the defensive end.....

Savard
Moore
Goulobef
Regner
Holden (possible #7 in Columbus)
Ruth
Blomqvist
Delisle
Prout
Johnson

That's 10 guys by my count. I really want to see Savard, Moore, Goulobef, Ruth, Blomqvist and Regner get a majority of the time. I suspect Prout and Delisle will be in the ECHL or CHL depending on our afiliate but that's till a lot of guys...one of these 10 will be in Columbus. Granted we could go with 2 extra d-men as an option but not likely.

Young Developing defensemen are valuable tradeable assets. Kind of can't have too many.

I've seen it cut both ways. Some guys are more likely to handle criticism by taking it personally, and some are more likely to take it as constructive and get better. I'm of the opinion that a marginal player had better be well-liked, because if he ends up in the press box or the AHL, his friends in the locker room are more likely to play a little bit harder. If the guy's a jerk, it's bad for morale as a whole. Stars can get away with being jerks, but players lower on the ladder have less room for it.

Delisle will probably be at the lowest level that he can just to get ice time; he missed almost all of last year and desperately needs to make up for lost time.

He had a pretty bad camp last year, which is what got him punted down to Fort Wayne in the first place.

Anybody else wonder if this was a favor to Nash as much as it was a Springfield signing?
Carter = Voracek, a number 1 and a number 3 pick

Filatov = 3rd round pick

Nash and Johnson quote = priceless
