Yes, we got better but there I'd like to see the team start strong so we're not panicking close to the playoffs. I think the team should be competing to win the division and I'm not sure we have enough scoring punch to do that.

We can stand pat, but not sure that is the best idea, but it maybe our best option depending on the price. I"m not at all disappointed with what DL has done so far but I think we need to keep kicking tires to see what can come out of it.

Hopefully some of these California kids, that have been drafted in the last few years, start becoming star players in the NHL. That way, when they become UFAs, they sign with the Kings so they can be closer to home. It might be our best chance to sign a top-notch UFA!

Problem is some grew up Ducks fans. Don't have to worry about them being Sharks fans. I played 10+ years up in Norcal vs kids who were Sharks fans and none of em are good enough to make the ECHL

That's a fit. RT @LAKings: #LAKings reach verbal agreement with left wing Simon Gagne on two-year contract. More details to come.

Off season complete. Now let's get the kids ready for camp in a couple of weeks.

Very happy about this. This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted Gagne last season. I think he is a good fit for this team, and now that we have Richards it is a dream. Can't wait.

I'm almost glad we didn't get him Richards.
After all he's 31, and he's coming off a concussion. Sure, he's a great player NOW, but how will that deal look 3-4 years from now? We must not forget what happened with Drury and Gomez. I prefer to see Dean sign a cheaper top6, and keep some flexibility. If Parise will be an UFA next year, he's our guy. Not Brad Richards.

Good job, Dean. Swift action after losing out on Richards. For 2 years, I really don't care what the contract looks like. Even with whatever they sign Doughty to, they'll still be fine in terms of cap space.

7M/2 years is an overpayment but it's still okay, I like the fit and even if we had to overpay, Lombardi got the job done. Now we see who wins the RW3 spot, I hope it's Lewis (obviously)

Dean is the man. Doughty will sign soon after seeing the team that Dean has put together.

Gagne has a lenghty concussion history and is 33 iirc.
Granted he is signed for 2 years.

And it is $4.5 and $2.5. Lessens the buyout for year two if he doesn't work out.
