Alexander Semin?

I dont know if anyone follows Dustin Leed on Twitter but he has been talking about Rumors of the Flyers possibly going after Semin?

I can see where the #Flyers interest in Alex Semin comes from... They want to pull the trigger on something.

But Semin doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Highly skilled, but too soft for Laviolette. $6.7-mil doesn't help. And UFA in 361 days.

I agree with Dustin here..do not want Semin...what do you guys think?

No thankyou. Undoubtedly enough talent there, but not what we need.

Excuse me, may I please ask where the Alexander Semin rumors originated from? ... There ya go Twitter police.

I haven't heard anything about Semin until I saw him talking about it...I don't know if there is a blog or article that mentions the Flyers showing interest in him or what...

I actually like Semin. If he were a UFA...maybe I would give it a second thought.

But any trade for a one year contract worth $6m is going to cost us valuable assets that we can not afford to give to Washington. Also, it would force us to drop another big contract to make room.

I do NOT want Semin. It's not even close to worth it. There are much better players that can be had for cheaper.

I don't want Semin. He's way too inconsistent. And the cap hit isn't near worth it.

I would trade for Semin in a second.

My proposal: Leighton, Shelley, Walker and a 6th rounder. Anything more and no deal.

I wouldn't want him solely because it's a prime tool in jeering other fans. "Excuse me, sir, but you have Semin on your back."

I see what you did there. Good work, fine sir. Good thing he doesn't play defense (at all), or you'd also have to hear "____ is covered by Semin" or "Semin is all over him!"

Lol. I'm apparently 8.

God I hope not. 6.7 then he is a UFA. Not with a 10' pole.

If Semin ever put on a Flyers jersey, it'd immediately burst into flames.

I laughed.

But just to clarify, Semin is not a defensive liability. He's actually pretty damn good on the back check and he is solid positionally in his own end. It's the Russian stereotype that a sniper with soft hands can't play decent defense. He can PK as well.

He's actually pretty similar to Jeff Carter ironically.

I'd rather have Mike Green than Semin.

No thanks. Although I would like to see a rematch between him and Marc Staal.

Semin needs to be on a team with other Russians (particulary his best friend Ovy) or he'll be miserable.
