Avery is half a player Fedotenko is. I mean it in terms of size. Avery is small and it shows. Same with MZA. Feds is huge.

Boyle will center 4th. There is no substitute for him for now.
fedotenko is 2 inches taller and 5lbs heavier and he's double the size?? LOL

I feel like sather and staff are awaiting the outcome of this decision with the Nashville Predators. I think they jump on SKostitsyn if he becomes available.

Any of you interested in Steve Bernier? Kid's always got skill.

Honestly, I wish wish wish Wolski clicks with Richards and Gabby on the top line. Then the Pack line can stay intact, and we'll have an outstanding top 6. What's more, the 1st and 2nd lines would be so different in styles (skilled East-West puck possession and South-North bang and cycle) that the opposing teams' D would be going nuts trying to keep up.

That's the biggest X factor in my eyes. If Wolski has a good year (60+ pts) on the first line, this team might actually challenge Pittsburgh for the division.

He also wasn't qualified by the Panthers.

Even the Panthers felt they were too good for Steve Bernier.

I don't think we'll challenge Pittsburgh. Not unless they have another injury-racked season - they're just too good.

Steve Bernier isn't comparable to Grabner.

That was almost meant to be tongue-in-cheek...

Meh who'd want to qualify Bernier at 2.5ish anyways? lol

Could possibly work out as a reclamation project like Higgins was for the Canucks last year.

Anyone mention Shane Doan?

Not sure what it would take to get him. Or if he's available, but a big guy, consistent 25-30 goal scorer, solid charachter guy.

Durable as he's missed just 21 games over the last 6 years.

Plays both wings. Could be that physical presense on the LW that can draw defenders to him as he crashes the net.

Has some talent to score goals as well.

I believe he has this year and next on his current contract. Would be a very solid addition to our top line.

I think EVERYONE on this forum would welcome Doan with open arms -- but I shudder at the thought of what it would take to convince Maloney to move him. Also, I believe Doan has made it known that if Phoenix was to move, he would retire, becuase he is very happy in Phoenix -- so I don't think he would waive his NTC, unless it was a deadline move, and last shot at the cup before he hung 'em up.

Last year Wolski was on pace to get about 40 points in his time with the Rangers. That includes time spent on a fourth line with EC and time spent being centered by a clearly exhausted Stepan at the end of the season. Playing all season with Richards and Gaborik, I see no way that WW doesn't put up at least 50+ points, and honestly, 65 wouldn't be a stretch.

Wolski is the type of guy who needs good players around him. He had that two years ago when he put up 65 points with Colorado and Phoenix. I really hope that he is given a legitimate chance, he clearly has the skill and the ability to be a first line player when paired with talent.

Or Cory Stillman.

WW will be bought out. I disagree with it, but it is what it is.

Dubinsky-Richards-Gaborik
Wolski-Anisimov-Callahan

Unless a move is made, or there is a big surprise in camp this is how I expect/hope the top 2 lines will look.

As much as I would like to keep the pack line together; with the roster as is I feel this is our best constructed top 2 lines. Dubinsky gives the top line a real good 2 way player and a physical presence that can get dirty.

I mentioned Stillman before and got no response.
I think he would fit nicely, solid player could fit onto the first 3 lines depending on where others play.
2 Stanley Cups... probably get him for 2.5-3 million.
The big Q is can he play 82 Games.

3 mill for a player to challenge Avery for a spot on the 4th line? Or do you see him getting minutes over Dubi, Wolski or Feds?

He's 37. I'm done chasing players 10 years too late. Wolski or Dubinsky for me.

Agreed. Stillman is on the tail end of a very good career. But at this point i would much rather have an inconsistent Wolski.
