I like Idaho's schedule, mostly because they have quite a few weekend home games against teams like Victoria, who I want to see.

Wow Victoria really gets screwed. I've never seen a schedule like that. Month on the road, month at home.

Their arena isn't going to be done on time to start the season, so it's the only way to include them at all.

Fresno had the same situation last season when the Save Mart Center wasn't ready. I like the Bullies schedule. We see some southern division teams that we've never seen and we don't have another trip out west, but a few western teams come here.

Looking at the schedule for the Gladiators, they do have a weird West Coast swing in March.

3/22/2005
@ Fresno Falcons

3/23/2005
@ Long Beach Ice Dogs

3/25/2005
@ Bakersfield Condors

3/26/2005
@ Bakersfield Condors

3/27/2005
@ San Diego Gulls

Two nights @ Bakersfield seemed strange, so I double checked on the Condors' site, and it shows games against the Gladiators two nights in a row. I would have thought they'd slide into Vegas to play the Wranglers, but their scheduled to be @ Alaska for 3 straight tilts during that time period. I guess the way things are in the ECHL these days you'll see a number of games like this, especially out west.

Two games against the same team in two nights is and always has been a common thing in the ECHL. I know a lot of times when the Bullies will play the Titans two nights in the same building, and they're only cross state. Teams often have "three in three's" when they play three games in three days. The ECHL schedules most games on weekends to accomodate families, so Friday/Saturday/Sunday in a row isn't strange at all.

exactly...and I that helps build a history/rivalry. when I can't go to both friday and sat. games, I grab a ticket for the saturday game...with the hope it will be more exciting.

It's a bit of a new concept for fans in the Atlanta area, as such scheduling never happens in the NHL, and IIRC, the IHL never did it either. I can understand the scheduling in regards to some of the teams out west (I mean those road trips to/from Alaska are probably pretty hard on a team), but I can also understand the financial reasonings as well for doing it league-wide, as it does help in regards to keeping travel bills lower.
