Depends if Dean wants a 3rd line RW or if he's fine with Lewis/Richardson. Other than that 1,2, and 4 lines set, D is set, net is set....just need to sign those RFA's.

Wasn't pumped about Gagne, but 2 years at 7 is a good deal. Lets hope he can stay relatively healthy and doesn't miss too many big games. If not there's plenty of room for Parse to play himself onto the 2nd line.

I'm okay with it. Offering him a multi year deal was probably the only way he'd come out west at a reasonable CAP hit.

If he stays healthy he should be good for 60 points. If he finds his groove, he could break out.

Also, the relatively low CAP hit gives us some flexibility to add a player at the deadline if need be.

I can see Dustin Brown having a Career year. He can just play a simple North South Game; and hit everything that moves.

No more of Dustin having to carry the puck in, and turn it over.

He's a real sniper at least. We finally have someone that can shoot the puck. Just have to hope he stays healthy.

Isn't that true of every player? Sure, he's had injuries, but anyone can get hurt.

Is Crosby now injury prone? Kopitar?

Again, Smyth played 82 games last year. How many posters said that would never happen?

Awesome video. I didn't realize what a sniper he is. He's always in perfect position around the net for all those goals. Great release!

Antti Miettinen is still available. He's not physical, but he's versatile, plays a two-way game, and can chip in 40 points in a bottom 6 role.

Only 8 players have been born on February 29th.

3 active players, Gagne, Cam Ward, and Bobby Sanguinetti.

Henri Richard most notable.

Just got home to see the news. Good signing imo and at a good value. One of the only UFA signings where the guy wasn't massively overpaid. Good job DL.

Should be done , out Smyth , Hanzus , Ponikarovsky in M. Richards ,
Gagne
. It seems like adding a bottom 6 from the outside would be a step back
( unless they needed a PK - whick they don't ) .

Penner - Kopitar - Williams
Gagne - Richards - Brown
Lokionov - Stoll - Parse
Clifford - Lewis - Richardson

ex: Westgarth , Holloway

Doughty - Mitchell
Johnson - Scuderi
Greene - Martinez

ex: Muzzin , Drewiske

Quick
Bernier

Just a bit disappointed we weren't able to acquire someone better. Oh well.
Trades don't work that way. You can't just call up another GM and say, "Hey I want your good LW who you're underpaying for $3.5 million, thanks", and its a done deal. This was a GREAT signing player and money wise

If health and fitness isn't a problem, we easily just added 100 goals to the team with Gagne, Richards and Penner.

I am with you on this one. I think paying the little extra to keep the prospect pool from getting too thinned out too quickly is fine.

The Kings needed a proven scorer and added depth on the wing and they got it in Gagne.

The fact that Scotty Upshall got the same amount for a longer term says it all.

Not to mention, this was the safer route to take. We know we're getting a pure left wing scorer that we have lacked for quite a while whereas Brad Richards, even though he is incredibly talented and well-experienced, would still be a question mark in our lineup. What if he just didn't work out as a left winger in this organization? we can't have 3 of our highest paid forwards be centers for atleast 5 years........ I like this signing alot.

I can't find the exact quote, but DL said not too long ago that players as they hit 30 start to see their production decline.
Someone forgot to tell Selanne and St Louis

How many other teams have 6 30+ goal scorers on their roster?

Best off season since '88?

From:
Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Parse-Stoll-Brown

To:
Penner-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Brown

Only losing Simmonds off the roster.

Not sure if serious?

Lokti will NOT be playing 3rd line LWer. Parse is a LWer, not right. Richardson is either LWer or C. And I believe Murray has been quoted as saying Clifford already has the 3rd line LW job.

my two favorite players in the NHL on the Kings. THIS IS ALL VERY CONFUSING.

Also, Richards and Gagne are fantastic together.
