I really hope there's a trade coming because I'll be very disappointed if we are counting on Benoit Pouliot/Chris Kelly/Jordan Caron to fill 2 of our top 9 forward spots. For 2 years, that cap hit better be EXTREMELY high, because the term is great for Gagne.

Well looks like its going to be an open competition to replace Ryder and Recchi between the kids.

Thank goodness. I hope Gagne enjoys the Western Conference.

Two years, seven million sounds pretty good for Gagne.

Who's left now? I can't keep up!

$3.5M cap hit, 2 year deal for Gagne. I'm pissed Chia passed on that, nothing unreasonable at all about that deal.

I would have taken Gagne at 2 for 7 in a heartbeat. Kinda dissapointed.

Maybe he didn't want to sign with Boston in the first place?

Who says he passed? Players consider many things other than just money and winning.

Wow. Really bummed we missed out on Gagne. Reasonable $$. Reasonable term.

That one stings.

Gagne to LA?

#LAKings reach verbal agreement with left wing Simon Gagne on two-year contract. More details to come.

Ok, then sign someone better than Benoit freakin' Pouliot if Gagne isn't interested in Boston. Too late for that now, the rest of the FA market is a stiff fest. Whether Gagne wanted to come here or not, replacing Ryder and Recchi with Pouliot is not acceptable with the amount of cap space we have.

Let's hope he's got a trade up his sleeves.

Well called by Chia. Ryder was an overpaid 40 point player. We don't need to replace that with an overpaid 40 point player. Aim higher.

I'm more disappointed that we weren't in on Connolly rather than Gagne. A nice playmaker on the third line with Peverley and Seguin would have been very interesting.

3.5 for Gagne over two years? I would have been all over that.

Well, now I am very disappointed with the direction this team has gone so far this off season. Maybe Chiarelli can pull a rabit out of a hat this off season in a trade, but I feel the Bruins are significantly worse

Meh, I doubt Boston was ever in on Gagne. Chia plans to be conservative and they have alot of good forwards and prospects coming up front.

If Chia makes a splash it will be on a dman.

Count me in. I'm disappointed with Chia, our team is clearly weaker and there is no viable options out there.

And it should be at this point. As much as I wanted Gagne on the B's, if Kaberle doesn't come back, they need to find a D-man to fill his role. That should be priority right now.

And before anyone says Kampfer, he is still too much of an unknown right now. I would rather they don't take the risk of expecting him to be 100% ready for the NHL.

Gagne heads west, anyone wanna bet that the Bruins meet the Kings in next years finals and Gagne scores a couple big goals.
