it's all right to sign former Moose players, but what about some true improvement Chevy??

Like this move.

Rypien is one tough mother****er. One of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the league.

Didn't he left for personal issue in the middle of the season?

Seriously? Are we going to just be a team of goons?

A lot of us believe they were drug related issues, however with the second A in AA being Anonymous, nothing was really made public and rightfully so.

Fighters hate going against a guy like Rypien because he is absolutely crazy and lets it all go on the ice.

Our 4th line may set a record for having a combined total of 0 goals this season though, if Glass and Rypien both play.

Dunno really. Glass will fill in the job left by Boulton, Meech and Flood will be in St Johns (don't forget half the AHL team is to build), Rypien will bring some gritness.

I like how some players who were part of the Moose/Canucks are signing in Peg... At least the team will be familiar.

Don't think Jets fans will be pleased with that for long...

I actually like this move, but where does he fit in the line-up with a healthy Slater? Is he going to be a 13th forward?

Our bottom 6 forwards are painful to look at. With no elite talent ahead of them...

- Florida has reloaded. Only question there is chemistry & goaltending.
- Ottawa's going to be better with Anderson for an entire year.
- The Islanders should be improving from within.

Jets are a bottom 3 team in the East... no doubt about it. If you're going to suck at least go for the top prize.

He'll be in the press box but I doubt he's in the AHL.

good question. you have Slater, Thor, Glass and now Rypien. Thor can be a 3rd liner but not a great one.

I actually thought when the team moved it'd be the last time I saw Stapleton on an NHL roster.

Jokes on me.

Ottawa is still pretty bad, Anderson will get them some wins but they're still very young.

Florida's defence and goaltending are horrible. Jovo and Campbell as their top pairing?

Islanders were on fire at the end of last year and they should get better this year, yeah.

Keep in mind this team was top of the SE until they had some injuries. Quality depth is a problem.

I don't think you can split up Thor and Slater. They're all we have left of the greek gods and should be together.

I like him better then Glass. Rypien can actually fight. Our 4th line is crowded now though. Glass, Rypien, Slater, Thorburn. Glass likely won't play a whole lot though. At least there is a little depth in our bottom 6.

yeah, hopefully Glass or Rypien can play the role of Boulton well.

sooo

Ladd-Little-Wheeler
Kane-Burmi-Antropov
Thorburn-Cormier-Klingberg
Glass-Slater-Rypien

Stapes?

Enstrom-Buff
Bogo-Hainsey
Oduya-Stewart

this is exactly the same team. I imagine there will be a trade or two at some point

That is exactly the same team.

I would've liked to bring Stewart back so we could've had a semi-decent 3rd line winger. And for the price he got I don't think it would've been a bad decision given our bottom 6 situation.

Let's hope Chevy has some sort of trade package in the works because the only chance we have right now of winning more games than last year is Cole being out of the division.

Most of these signings are to fill out St. John's. Organizational depth was not a strength- last year, when we were ravaged by injuries, we were icing guys like Rob Schremp as the 2nd liner and stuff like that.

It's all depth stuff.

Rypien can throw, but he's more useless than Boulton. Boulton could PK and occasionally scored. As much as I enjoyed watching Rip's fights, that was pretty much it.

I'd rather the team had signed Reasoner or someone.
