Now with the Richards sweepstakes over with, Burke/Nonis/Dudley can concentrate on their own team and re-sign their own players. Who will be let go and who will re-up?

RFAs
Tyler Bozak
Previous contract - 3.75M

Clarke MacArthur
Previous Contract - 1.1M

UFAs
Fredrik Sjostrom
Previous Contract - 750K

Darryl Boyce
Previous Contract - 527.5K

Joey Crabb

Keep all the RFAs. Maybe sign Boyce and Crabb if they want to play on the Marlies.

We need a 4th line C...might as well give Hanson and Boyce a shot at the job. Maybe throw them an invite at camp and sign the better of the two?

Sjostrom will be let go for sure. He was brought in to help the pk, but with the emergence of Bozak/Army/Brown/Kule/Grabo on the pk, he becomes redundant and provides no offense.

I'd give Crabb and Two-way deal and send him the Marlies. 600K Max.

Boyce would be a perfect extra skater for this squad. Can fill in for the bottom six, lots of hustle and can manufacture offense through hard work. Not too sure what I would give him though. 800K?

It's the baseline salary for entry level college free agents I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I expect him to re-signed for nothing over 2mil.

Wasn't it something to do with bonuses? I'm not really sure either.

No, his NHL salary was $875,000 but his performance bonuses was $2,850,000 for a total cap hit of $3.75 mil. As the season progresses and certain bonuses are deemed unattainable, the team gets that portion of the bonus back in cap space.

Actually his cap hit is 875k but if he reaches his bonuses those will count against next year's cap. Except for next season since it's the final season of CBA.

Schenn: 4 million over 4 years
Macarthur: 3 million over 2 years
Bozak: 1.5 million over 2 years
Lashoff: 800k over 1 year

Boyce: 650k over 1 year

That should fill out the lineup and leave us with space to give matching 4.5 million dollar contracts to Grabo and Kulemin for next year. The money isn't an issue, so, let's just get these deals done.

MacArthur's price must have jumped after the Connolly signing. The Leafs need to stop overpaying depth players. They are in trouble if Connolly was brought in to be more than a depth player.

we've already been over this a few times. UFA signings do not have anything to do with RFA signings & arbitration rulings.

Leino, Connolly, Cole, and whatever other UFA's were overpaid do not have a thing to do with Mac's case.

That 2,850 million goes to the bonus cushion.

Don't take this the wrong way and I say this with all respect, but you are confused.

MacArthur is an RFA Connolly is a UFA, their salaries are non comparable.

Regardless we have the cap space to sign Mac for whatever he gets in arbitration which is probably somewhere around 3.5mil.

Oh who cares re-sign them all. Not like we're using the cap space for anything.

Re-sign all RFAs, re-sign Boyce, if he's willing, to a 2-way contract, and find a UFA 4th line C if one is out there. That's all the Leafs need to do now considering they're willing to enter the season with Connolly as the #1 C.

he was brought in to be our top line centre with kessel and lupul until we can develop a #1 guy of our own thus the short contract

Show me where it says that performance bonuses do not count against the cap and only towards the bonus cushion? BTW, no bonus cushion for the 2011 - 2012 season.
