89 works for me. I bet he chooses something in the teens though. Also, I don't understand retiring LaFontaine's number but not Mogilny's.

Nobody will take Boyes off our hands and he hes worn #22 for a long time.
I like Ehrhoff at #10 but i think this would look best
Ehrhoff-#5
Leino-#10

Plenty of teams would take him off our hands. But Buffalo isn't selling him right now.

Seems like there's quite a few possibilities, could go with a few digits off 22 (20, 23, 25), keep the 2nd 2 (12, 32) or just go with an entirely different number.

It took 5 days from the day the trade was official to formally introduce Robyn Regehr, so I'm guessing in 4-5 days they'll have one for Ehrhoff and Leino, and we'll see their jerseys then.

89 is not a good number for him, the guy who had it was pretty good but i think it will be 23 because i really think the 25 will somewhere took off, same as 89.

Isn't the gold helmet given to the top scorer/MVP of the Finnish league?

They are worn by the leading point scorer of each team.
You'll notice all of them have a red logo on them, which is the logo of this company (a betting company).
It's pretty much just advertising for one of the SM-liiga's biggest sponsors.
This is much better IMO than the horrible NLA top scorer.

There's also the "kultainen kypärä" (golden helmet) which is an award for the best player in the SM-liiga.
It's this:

Good info - the last bit is what confused me I think.

Maybe the Sabres could try the shiny gold helmets with the 3rd jersey or something... not sure weather it would look awesome or just stupid.
