Sign me up for a Drury addition. With Handzus and Smyth being gone we kind of need an older guy to lead by example and bust his ass. I think he would look great in our bottom six and almost be a playoff type/deadline addition only without giving up the assets to get him later on. For cheap of course.

And if we do sign Drury then I hope that's because Doughty is soon to follow since that would have cap implications on how much DD would make.

If Drury wants to play in the NHL ever again, he is going to have to take a HUGE pay cut, meaning anywhere from the hundreds of thousands range to a max of $1.5M. If he's asking a penny more, he'll be playing in the KHL.

Stoll laughs. And then gives you the death stare.

Are we really discussing an Eklund rumor?

Sharks sign Burns for $5.75 million per year for 5 years. He was going to be an UFA next off season, right?

26 years old with only two (healthy) good seasons in the pros. Not sure if this contract is allowed in the consideration of Weber's Arby hearing/negotiation, but again weber is DDs ceiling.

I still expect a shorter term deal for DD (3 or 4 years).

Sharks' fans seem to be happy with it, but seems a little high. Not excessive, but it should have been closer to $5 million, but again it is 5 UFA years.

Dean is still the man with his contracts. Dean has the Kings setup nicely.

Let's see how many UFA years Dean can get from Drew. A 5 year deal with Drew would suck. It better be 2 years (keeps him RFA)or 7+ years (gets at least 3 UFA years).

No. This is an UFA contract.

Pretty much Yandle and Pheneuf will be used if Weber goes to arbitration. Drew's deal will not be done before Weber's.

Wonder if the Nashville GM asked Dean not to sign Drew before Weber's arbitration so that Weber's value doesn't go up.

Isn't he eligible for free agency in four years? I'd expect his contract to either take him up to one year left as RFA, or to go 3-4 years into the UFA period; nothing in-between. There's no way the Kings give him a 4-year deal, and 5 years would make his expire at the same time as Kopitar's so that would also be a no go. I would expect either a deal of 2-3 years or at least 6.

Wasn't it rumored that they were working on 2 separate deals? One of 3 years, the other being about 9?

As i've said before, I hope to see 2-3 years or 8+.

There is way too much BS in the Drew rumors to know what is out there. 9 years was the Kings rumored offer and no one publically denied it. I've seen 5 year deals floated out there.

I don't think I've seen any 2 year deals rumored out there, but that would be the way Dean should go if Drew doesn't want a 7+ year deal.

He'll be arby eligible after 3 years, so that could get messy too...

Clifford-Stoll-Richardson/Parse
Richardson/Parse-Lewis-Westgarth

Im happy with that...

Coming off a knee surgery, but he would probably fit nicely into the role.

Drury would likely sign a cheap incentive laden deal.
If his knee checks out, I am pro Drury.

I was just looking at the consensus top 6 for next season, as a whole they only missed 37 games. (Penner missed his because of the trade)

Bonuses count against the cap this year, regardless of whether or not they're reached. I can't see Drury signing that sort of contract with the Kings, perhaps somewhere else though.

Another benefit of having Drury on the roster is his faceoff ability. If Lewis struggles in that area, or if there is a critical draw to be won, Drury can be inserted at the faceoff circle. He finished the regular season with a 56.4 winning percentage, and in the playoffs he had an astounding 62.8 winning percentage.

A fourth line of Parse-Drury-Lewis would be infinitely better than Parse-Lewis-Westgarth. But all of this depends on whether or not Drury can play. If he can, he would be a valuable veteran addition.

I was looking at teams rosters on capgeek and couldn't help but notice how many teams have players with NTC/NMC's. The Kings have 1 player (Richards) with a NTC which starts next July. Then you look at a team like Calgary and they have like 8 players with NTC. New Jersey gave Colin White a NTC. How the **** does Colin White get a NTC? Another interesting on i came across, Sean Avery has a full NTC from July 1-Aug 15th every year and limited (10 teams) the rest of the year. The Kings have a lot of roster flexibility going into the future.

Drury's knees are a disaster...where does he fit? He would push Parse completely out of the line up or Clifford to the 4th line....

Penner-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Brown
Clifford-Stoll-Richardson
Parse-Lewis-Westgarth
